Deliciu Nic Salts Refreshed

Deliciu have gone back to the drawing board with their nic salts range, and what they have come up with is going to be a real winner

Back in March, we were sent the then new range of nic salts powered by Vaporesso, the Deliciu range. It was an exciting launch, but not all the flavours quite hit the mark, so instead of just going with it, Deliciu have gone back to the drawing board and have come back strong with a fresh reboot of the range, and we have got to try them.

It seems the original line up didn’t quite match the taste of the average vaper here in the UK, and I have to say I really respect the decision to go back and tweak the flavours to better suit us over here. It is really nice to know that this is a product line that has a lot of love and support behind it, and that Deliciu also really care about the end users.

Not only has the juice been remixed, but the packaging has also been given a makeover, and now the flavours take centre stage. The original packaging seemed to mimic that of a disposable vape, which meant there was a lot of wasted space in the oversized boxes. These have been shrunk down a bit which makes them much more manageable. The graphics also pop much more, and there is no mistaking which flavour is in the box. I think it looks great; it really does catch your eye. The labels have more colour too, and they feel more modern and fresher.

This time round we were sent eleven flavours to try, most are the new versions of the original line up, but there is a couple of new to us ones to try. I was particularly pleased to get a bottle of the Wild Apple and Hawthorn, as that one really intrigued me first time round but wasn’t included in the first review.

So, let’s get into things. It may also be fun to compare things to what we originally thought so you might want to check the first review too.

Blueberry Sour Raspberry

Straight away, the fruits are much better defined, especially the blueberry, which is very natural tasting, with just the right amount of sweetness and that delicate, slightly floral flavour of a real blueberry. The raspberry is, as the name would suggest, sour, like a proper candy sour, it is one of the best sour flavours I’ve tried as most are far too tame in my opinion. There is still a bit of a sweetener taste, but it is much more subtle, instead the actual flavour is much more pronounced. This is a huge improvement over the original recipe.

Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice

I liked the original flavour; it was one of my favourites in the range. This time, the fruits seem to merge more with each other, and the vape feels smoother. I do get a slightly soapy taste though and I am not sure what is causing it. I think maybe the flavours are a little too string, if it was all dialled back a touch, I think it would work better. The level of ice is really nice though, you know it is there, but it still stays smooth, this is how ice should be done.

Pineapple Orange

This is a new one to me, I am not sure if it is a completely new flavour or whether we just missed out first time round. Not that it matters, as this is just a great flavour. The pineapple is spot on, sweet, juicy and exotic, and the orange seems to amp it up to another level. You can clearly taste both fruits, but it is the perfect harmony that stands out. This is a really good flavour.

Watermelon Ice

This is always a popular disposable flavour, so It makes sense that it should be in this Deliciu lineup. This is as good as any other watermelon flavour, sweet, lightly fragranced, and delicate whilst also being strong enough for the taste to be unmistakable. It has a cracking aftertaste too; it lingers delicately after you’ve finished your vape. Again, the ice has been done really well, it is clearly there, and it hits the spot, but it doesn’t take away from the melon flavour.

Apple and Pear

This smells so good, even before you’ve taken your first puff. The apple is great, fresh and crisp, and the pear rounds things off well with a sweet, smooth finish. It also recreates that dry natural flavour that you get from a fresh picked apple. Originally, I felt there was too much sweetener in it, but it has been dialled right back and is so much better for it. This is another big winner.

Grape

This is just a great American style grape flavour, dark and rich, and so juicy. There is a light iced note which helps to lift it and makes it very easy to vape without it getting too heavy. I think it might be one of my favourite grape flavours to date, it just ticks all the right boxes.

Blueberry Pomegranate

I have already found how good Deliciu are at blueberry, and that definitely continues here, it is such a good flavour. This time it has been mixed with a sharp biting pomegranate, and they work really well together offering two very contrasting taste sensations. I love how clearly you can taste both fruits, yet they work even better together.

Wild Apple and Hawthorn

This is the one I was waiting for, and it didn’t disappoint. I love the Deliciu apple for its flavourful mix of juicy and crisp, but this time there is an earthy dimension which must come from the hawthorn. I still have no idea what hawthorn berries tastes like, this time of the year, the bushes are heavy with hawthorn fruit, but I had no idea they were edible! Not that any of that matters, this e-liquid tastes really good, like a great apple with a twist.

Pineapple Ice

This was another one I really liked from the original run, so I was looking forward to seeing how it was improved. To be honest, there isn’t such a big change here, it is still super juicy with a high level of realism. Again, the sweetness is more of a natural flavour. I’d say it may be slightly richer, but it is still a fantastic pineapple, with a lighter iced finish.

Raspberry Key Lime

I was not expecting this to be so good, but it is a really amazing flavour. You get the sweet, almost jammy raspberry but it is the lime, it is so nice. It is a smooth flavour but is really sharp, but not it an unpleasant way. It is strong, much stronger that most lime flavours, but when mixed with the raspberry, it works brilliantly. This will be a regular staple in my vape juice collection.

Lemon Lime

More lime, I’m certainly not complaining after the brilliance of the last flavour though. I thought the lime was sharp, but the lemon manages to cut through and ramps it all up. But it is also incredibly juicy and is super refreshing. This is up there with the best lemon lime mixes, and that is no mean feat as it is a staple flavour in many juice ranges. This leaves most of the competition in the dust, simply delicious on every level.

Final Thoughts

I have a confession to make here. When Deliciu reached out to ask if we’d like to try the revamped range, I was less than excited. There was nothing wrong with the original range, but there was also nothing that really stood out, and I really didn’t expect things to be that different, but I was wrong, very wrong. With the focus on tweaking the recipes and building on the original strengths, the Deliciu salts range is now up there with the very best salts brands. Several are the best I’ve had so far, even on some tried and true flavours. Deliciu have really knocked it out of the park this time round.

Keep an eye out at your regular e-liquid suppliers as these should be hitting the shelves next week (2nd Spetember). You will want to get your orders in early as I can see the Deliciu rebooted range will be a big hit!
