I could almost swear that our friends at Vapoholic are trying to keep me sweet with their choice of e-liquids they send for review. I’m sure it is just a coincidence though as they can’t possibly know what flavours I choose to vape when I’m not wearing my reviewer hat, and I never ask for anything specific. The arrangement is that they send in what they want us to review, and I do just that as I like the element of surprise. So it slightly blew my mind when the Ferocious Desserts bundle arrived and I discovered not one, not two, but three flavours that were staples back when I used to mix my own e-liquid. I was never without a bottle of custard on the go with a second one steeping in rotation, and my favourite addition to custards, and many other recipes, was butterscotch due to the rich sweetness it enhances flavours with. Finally, I have always had a thing for New York Cheesecake flavours. I’d vape it as a stand-alone juice, or I would add strawberry or cherry to give things a fruity twist. So even before I had cracked open the first bottle, I knew I was going to be in vape heaven!
The Ferocious Desserts range is one of the fantastically affordable brands from Vapoholic who aim to provide top quality e-liquids at a price that makes them accessible to everyone. Times are tough at the moment for a lot of us, so being able to buy luxury flavours at everyday prices is always going to get a big thumbs up. We all deserve a little boost sometimes, and I can honestly say these really did feel like treat.
If you have read any of my recent reviews of other Vapoholic ranges, you will already know about the revolutionary system they have for adding nicshots without mess or effort, and I am pleased to say this system is in place here. For anyone new, basically their nicshot bottles have an extra wide nozzle which fits over the nib of the shortfill bottle so you can simply fit them together and squeeze. The system works brilliantly and saves a lot of mess and frustration. It is such a simple thing which is a huge quality of life improvement.
I was sent the 6mg freebase option as this best suits my vaping style, but you have a few other options to choose from. You can go for 100ml 0% nic, or you can have 3mg or 6mg kits with either nic salts or freebase nicotine which will make up 120ml of finished e-liquid. These are all 70VG/30PG so are better suited to subohm, DTL vaping. Most kits these days have coil options that will work well so you should have no problems with compatibility, I used several different pod kits and they all worked flawlessly.
Vanilla Custard
“Vanilla Custard Delight – Smooth and creamy custard, sweet but not sickly, and just the right amount of warm vanilla”
Vanilla custard is one of the all-time vaping greatest hits. When it first burst on to the scene, it caused a small revolution and spawned many variations, but sometimes you just can’t beat the simplicity of the classics. This is a straight up, honest to goodness creamy custard, the ambrosia of the gods. It is both rich and light at the same time making it highly vapable, and whilst it is quite sweet, it never became too much. Many custards are heavily sweetened which is a nightmare for coil life, but this is one of the kinder ones, so it isn’t going to end up costing you’re a fortune in consumables.
Butterscotch Custard
“Butterscotch Custard – Warm, vanilla custard topped with a swirl of deliciously sweet and sticky butterscotch sauce”
Custard and butterscotch are just perfect bed fellows, with the vanilla base being the ideal match for the rich sweetness of the almost caramel flavour from the butterscotch. If you haven’t tried this combo yet but love custard, you owe it to yourself to give this a try as it takes the classic flavour and elevates it to a whole new level. It adds a really decedent twist, it is a totally luxurious vape. Now you may wonder if you really need two custard flavours in one bundle, but I would say yes as you just can’t have too much of a good thing!
New York Cheesecake
“New York Cheesecake – Rich cream and vanilla flavours with a digestive biscuit base then added just the right amount of citrus undertones to balance out the sweetness”
Cheesecake is a massively underrated flavour in my opinion, but if you like vanilla in custard flavours, this is another great variation. It has a different kind of richness though which is boosted by the brown sugar biscuit base. It is a very rounded flavour with a slightly darker tone which makes it a much more interesting flavour. I also made a great accidentally discovery. I had a little bit of Ferocious Strawberry milkshake left over from a previous review and one morning before heading off to work, I realised I didn’t have enough juice in my tank to last the morning, so I grabbed what I thought was the cheesecake (I am not a morning person!). After taking a vape, I soon realised my mistake, but it worked wonderfully to make a really creamy strawberry cheesecake. I do love a bit of accidental mixology, and this one really worked. On its own, it is a fabulous flavour, but it is also one that you can have a bit of fun with if you don’t mind being a bit adventurous.
Birthday Cake
“Birthday Cake – Layers of freshly baked Victoria sponge cake with a luscious layer of authentic, rich vanilla icing”
This was the only one in the bundle that I had slight reservations about as I have had cake based e-liquids before, and they are rarely a success. This one bucked the trend, it is a really fun flavour which surprisingly does taste of a light sponge cake with a frosting filling. The frosting was particularly good too, and really pulls the cake together. We aren’t talking store bought cake either, this is fresh baked goodness through and through.
Ice Pop
“Ice Pop – Jam-packed with berry and cherry flavours, rounded off with a shot of ice for maximum refreshment!”
After the extravagance of all the vanilla, Ice Pop came as a welcome change of pace. There is nothing pretentious here either, it is not trying to be a grown up iced dessert, in fact the closest I can describe it as would be just like the freezer classic, you know, those ones that are basically a tube of frozen fruit squash that you cut the top off and squeeze. No matter how old you are, I don’t think anything hits the spot on a warm day like a Mr Freeze, especially when you get to the end and you have a few mouthfuls of the strong ice cold juice left at the bottom. The icy hit is perfect too, it really gives the flavour a pleasant chilly blast.
Final Thoughts
Vapoholic have done it again, this is yet another absolute banger of a bundle perfectly curated to tantalise your tastebuds at a price that simply can’t be beaten. You can buy these individually and each bottle is around a tenner depending on your strength and nicotine options, but the smart choice is the which, at the time of writing this, is an insane bargain at £34.99 for all five flavours. If you are like me and need to take your shoes off to count further than ten, this breaks down to £7 a bottle! If this wasn’t already the bargain of the century, all orders over £20 are also automatically eligible for free standard delivery, so you don’t even need to budget for shipping!
Many thanks to Vapoholic for sending the Ferocious Desserts bundle for review
