Fumot T9000 Big Puff Kit

The future is bright for the Fumot T9000 range

If you go to any local corner shop here in the UK, you no doubt will have noticed some seriously eye catching big puff kits, often sporting larger than life colours and graphics. You absolutely can’t miss them on the shelf, and if you don’t like cartoon characters on your vapes, you may well have raised an eyebrow. These were more than likely part of the Fumot range of semi disposables, and now they have sent us their latest creations, the T9000.

Thankfully this time, there are no cartoon graphics in sight, but subtle, they are not. The T9000 features eye popping colours and design which means there is no chance of you blending into the crowd when using one of these. I think it is safe to say the look will split opinion, you are either going to love it or hate it. As looks are subjective, I will let the pictures tell the story and then you can decide for yourself.

Unboxing was a great experience, and these went together nicely. When you open the box, you will find a lanyard in one bag, and then a larger sealed package with two sections, one carrying the main body, and the other housing the pod. The main body has a dummy pod in place which keeps the connecting section clear, but also means you have an extra chunk of rubber to throw away. Remove this whole section and then strip off the stickers and wraps from the pod, and then simply slide the two sections together and you are good to go. There are two pins which line up with two corresponding holes in the pod, so as long as you line these up, you can’t really go wrong. There is a fair amount of resistance when clipping the two parts together, but it is not difficult.

The T9000 is powered by a 600mAh internal battery which should be enough to last a fair while. Based on regular disposables, this means you will probably need to recharge it roughly five times before you run out of e-liquid. There is a USB-C port on the base of the device so you can’t charge the kit upright, but I found no leaking so all good.

These are basic auto-draw and there are no user changeable features, you just puff and it works. The draw is fairly light and airy for a mouth to lung style vape.

One thing to note is the lights. The base of the kit is a coloured transparent plastic, and surrounding the USB port, you will find a halo of six lights which burst to life when you take a puff. They cycle through a rainbow of bright colours as you inhale, and they are super bright. If you like to have a subtle sneaky vape, these are not the devices for you as there is no way of turning them off or down, but if you want a vape to take out partying, you could easily replace the inhouse light show. It is a fun feature, but it will once again split opinions. It isn’t something I would personally want, but I’m a grumpy old woman!

The range has a massive thirty seven flavours to choose from, but thankfully I was only sent a small selection for review. The majority are fruit based, but there are a couple of beverages and candies, and I have to admit to being intrigued by Black Dragon Ice. As these are based on disposable flavours, you can expect a lot of sweetness and elements of cooling.

Raspberry Watermelon – This is a classic disposable style watermelon which is lifted by a sweet candy raspberry. It is a really nice pairing which makes a change from the more traditional watermelon strawberry. There is a cool flash which comes though more on the exhale, and this keeps things clean tasting. Whilst it is an artificial flavour, there is no bitterness or hints of chemical flavours.

Peach Mango Pineapple - This is very much my kind of flavour; I do love tropical vapes. Each fruit comes through strong, but they also blend really well, and I think the peach needs to take the credit for pulling it all together. It is sweet and has that thick syrup feel, so again the touch of cooling adds to the whole experience and stops things from being too heavy.

Cherry Ice – This is a decent candy cherry, more like a hard boiled sweet rather than the fruit. You get little burst of sugar too which I really like. It is not authentic in any way, but it is a really fun take on cherry, and I could easily vape this all day. Again, it is very sweet, so the cooling is welcome here. If it was a stand alone e-liquid, I’d definitely buy a bottle or two, I really like it.

Mr Blue – This is your classic sweet energy drink flavour, maybe a bit sweeter than most but still unmistakable. It isn’t quite as rich as some I have tried, but it works well. The ice is slightly more subtle here which means the warmth of the sweet flavour can come through more.

Watermelon Bubblegum – This is a bit different; it is watermelon and it is bubblegum, and that isn’t a combo I’ve come across before. It does work even though they are very different flavours. For me, it is a little too sweet which takes a little away from the actual flavour, but if you have a serious sweet tooth, you will be in heaven here.

Watermelon Ice – More watermelon! It is good to try the base flavour on its own though so no complaints from me. This is clean and light with no hint of the bitterness you often get with watermelon flavours, it is simply very refreshing. Although this one is labelled as an iced flavour, it isn’t any colder than the others I was sent.

Final Thoughts

I was impressed with all of the T9000 flavours I was sent, you can easily identify the flavours and there were no distinct chemical hints anywhere. Although I wouldn’t choose all of the flavours for myself, I still enjoyed them all, none felt like an afterthought. It is clear a lot of thought has gone into the design of the flavours.

Looks wise, these won’t suit everyone. They are very bright, and that is before the lightshow kicks in, and whilst they feel solid and well made, the colour choice makes them look a bit cheap and plastic. Some people will love the style though, so take a look at the pictures and make your own mind up about looks and whether they fit with you. They are obviously designed for a younger, cooler market, and I am sure they will have plenty of fans.

Many thanks to Fumot for sending in the T9000 range for review.
