ArgusBar Pro Max

ArgusBar are back with another great option for a greener big puff vape, this time we take a look at the new ArgusBar Pro Max

Share on:

A couple of months ago, I got to try out the ArgusBar Prime big puff semi disposable vape, and was impressed by the blend of good design, great flavour, and the innovative teardown ability making it much easier to recycle. It felt like a bit of a turning point when it comes to the ethical side of disposable vaping. Well they are back with another new product which boasts the same easy to recycle ethic in a different form factor, so join us as we take a fresh look at the new ArgusBar Pro Max.

Unboxing and First Impressions

The ArgusBar Pro Max comes in a large box which is simple, clear, and to the point. It shows you everything you need to know without fuss or over the top fanfare. This means business and is quite happy to get to the point. Inside the box, there are two packets, one containing the body and battery, and the other holds the juice container. It looks more like a traditional pod and that carries on to the main body which looks more like a proper tube mod. It is very different from most big puff devices which tend to be rather uniform box kits.

The main body is taller than most too but is also thinner which makes it much easier to hold, especially if you have smaller hands like I do. Each one comes in its own colour variant making it easy to pull out the flavour you fancy if you have a few on the go at one time. The shape is somewhere in-between a cube and a tube with comfortable rounded corners and flatter sides. It has been designed to be comfortable, and it succeeds with flying colours.

On the front is a very small screen which is there to tell you how much batter charge you have left, and on the back is a USB port for fast charging. The base is flat so you can keep it upright which is handy, but more on that later.

When you first unbox the parts, you will need  to remove a couple of rubber seals, one in the top of the mouthpiece, and one sealing the internal atomiser which also holds 2ml of e-liquid. You will need to pull these off and then the extra juice pod slides down, fitting to make one kit. It is one of the easiest big puffs to assemble. Once it is all slotted together, you are good to go, the only thing you will need to do it charge the battery as needed.

When you have finally vaped the ArgusBar Pro Max out, you can easily remove the battery ready to pop it in the recycling bin. There are two push tabs at the base, give them a light squeeze and a pull, and the battery comes away easily. I am just as impressed as I was when I saw it in the ArgusBar Prime, anything that encourages easy recycling is an instant win in my books.

The Flavours

The complete ArgusBar Pro Max range comes in an impressive twenty flavours which have been formulated with the UK market in mind so they all should taste great. I was sent a selection of five to try.

Blue Razz Lemonade

This is a thick, juicy blue razz flavour, not floral like many blue raspberry flavours are but very fruity. Strangely it doesn’t taste too artificial which is a bit strange seeing as blue raspberry is an artificial flavour. The lemonade gives it a sharp kick and cleans things up. It is one of my favourite blue raspberry flavours, and the light icing effect finishes it off perfectly.

Pineapple Ice

This is a rich luxury pineapple juice with a good balance of syrup and tang. It is a sugary in a natural way which just adds to the flavour. It is a very good pineapple. The ice is surprisingly complex, it adds to the texture as much as it leaves a clean taste, and it is the feel that makes it a real winner.

Pink Lemonade

This is very different from the Blue Razz lemonade, although they do share some commonalities, that sharp citrus kick. It is a more delicate flavour which means the lemonade flavour comes through stronger. It makes me wish it was summer again, as this is the perfect sunny day vape.

Lemon Lime

This is a flavour I use to gauge disposable ranges as you can pretty much guarantee there will be a lemon lime. This is a top tier one with all of the elements in spades. It has the clean lemon which is fresh and sharp, and the smoother, more rounded lime which adds a sweetness. There is just the right amount of both flavours to make a perfect pairing.

Blueberry Sour Raspberry

I really like sour vapes, and I’d put this in the middle of the cheek pulling scale, it’s not going to make you pull weird faces, but you also know its there. The blend of berry flavours is well done, you can taste both, but neither is overpowering, just fruity and lively. It is a fun flavour and a great vape to mix up your daily vape.

Final Thoughts

Once again ArgusBar have nailed it with a winning combination of really good flavour and a more sustainable approach to big puff vapes. They are easy to set up and use too so no more broken fingernails or strained wrists trying to put them together so would be a great option if you have mobility problems.

I did however find that they don’t like being left unused. After a couple of days, all of them had a small amount of juice escaping from the main tank which made them feel a little sticky to hold. I am not sure I’d want to carry one around in my bag in case of further leaking, but if you are just going to have one on the go, it shouldn’t be much of a problem, but it is something to keep an eye on.

Many thanks to ArgusBar for sending in the ArgusBar Pro Max in for review.

A few days later she somehow found herself on the moderating team and is still not really sure how that happened. Even stranger, she slowly worked her way up to admin and now helps behind the scenes, liasing with vendors and coordinating social media but she can still be found making smutty comments on the forum.
