Avomi Fliq Prefilled Pod Kit

We have seen a flurry of 4in1 kits recently, so let's add another option to the list. Stephen takes a look at the Avomi Fliq kit

The Electronic Cigarette Company (TECC) sent me four of these Avomi Fliq devices to try out for you all.

Avomi seem to be a relatively new brand on the market, and all I could find was their website that’s punting the very 4in1 devices that I have here. They’re based in the UK but the boxes state that the vapes are made in China. That’s not anything weird, it’s the main way things work in the vape world, with manufacturing being outsourced.

Anyway, the Avomi Fliq is a 4in1 device that has a 950mAh internal battery in it. The pods have a capacity of 2ml, and you get four of them in the box. You can also purchase the pods separately in packs of two. The juice is all 20mg per ml strength, so these are clearly targeted at your disposable flavour enjoying folks. There’s a USB type C charging port on the device to allow you to charge it up (obviously).

The Fliq comes in a big box that holds the device itself, four pods, and an instruction manual. They all come in the usual plastic and foil packages to ensure that they’ve not been tampered with, and the device one is a nice iridescent colour, with instruction diagrams on it to let you know how to set things up. There is no USB cable included, but that’s pretty much standard nowadays with this type of kit.

One thing that I liked about Avomi before I got my hands on the kits is that you can get both their curated packs, where you get four different flavours, or you can buy a single flavour pack, which (again obviously) has just the one flavour in it. I love the option as I’m not always keen on all of the flavours in a curated box and prefer a bit more control over what I’m getting. Pedantic, but it’s just the way I am.

Another thing I was impressed with about the Fliqs when I did get my hands on them was the build quality of the devices. I’ve had a few 4in1 kits now and, while they are generally reusable with replacement pods, they do still look and feel as if they are somewhat disposable. The Avomi Fliq is different as they have used a thicker plastic and have also given it a rubber feel for ergonomic handling. It just feels that little bit more solid and sturdy compared to what I’ve tried so far.

I am also impressed that you can take the top off very easily to pop the pods in. There’s no having to snap it to the side or get the pliers out. It just twists off easily, exposing the chamber to pop the pods in. Once the pods are in and the cap is on, you just twist the whole top half to change your pods. There is a nice led light to let you know how much power is left in the device, and it changes colour the lower the charge gets.

But, as always, the main thing is the flavours. Now these are your typical disposable type flavours, so they all have a level of cooling and sweetener in them, and with that, on we go.

Fizzy Edition – Orange

Blue Razz Lemonade

The lemonade comes through well on this one and it’s a proper lemonade flavour, with no bitterness, rather than a generic lemony one. There’s a slight fizz that I can determine, and then the sweet blue razz cuts through the lovely lemonade to mix in nicely.

Pink Lemonade

It’s sweeeet and strong flavoured. There are some nice fruity berries and then the lemonade shines out as well for a lovely tasting juice. You get the sweetness on the lips with this one (and a few others in the range), but it’s not overly done so it works well here. The cooling isn’t too much either and it works with the juice rather than just being there.

Cola Ice

The cola is pronounced and sweet, as it should be. It’s sweet and syrupy, and reminds me of a melted cola ice pole (ice pop). The ice isn’t over done too much either, and like the lemonades above, it works with the flavour to enhance it.

Fizzy Cherry

The cherry flavour they’ve used in this range of juice has a marzipan tang to it and I reckon it’s more of a dark cherry as opposed to a red and sweet one, but notes of both are in there. The marzipan taste isn’t too heavy and it works ok with this juice. There’s also a quite noticeable fizz here, so it deepens the flavour to give a nice rounded vape.

Berry Edition – Purple

Strawberry Watermelon

The watermelon is strong, sweet and dominates over the strawberry, which adds to the sweetness and just kind of hangs around in the background. It is a nice watermelon as well so there’s no issues with it kind of taking over. The cooling again enhances the flavour here so has been added at just the right amount.

Blueberry Sour Raspberry

The blueberry gives way to the raspberry and its slight sourness. I get the blueberry as the leading flavour and it is quite strong and sweet, then the raspberry sneaks in and melts into it to give it that tart and sweet flavour that goes so well with a blueberry.

Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice

Again, we have the slight hint of marzipan in the cherry that threatens to take over the world but mellows out nicely. The raspberry gives its signature tang, and the strawberry sweetens things up a bit on the end. It’s like the fizzy cherry but the absence of the fizz aspect leaves it missing something a little in my own opinion.

Tropical Edition – Light Orange

Tropical Punch

It’s a sweet and light tropical flavour. There’s mango, guava, and perhaps a wee bit of pineapple or passionfruit in there that I can personally taste, giving you a nice breezy tropical vape in the end. The sweetener does take over a little bit, but it also enhance the overall flavour.

Pineapple Ice

What a nice pineapple. There’s a good range of the fruit itself in there with the juice, the chunk,s and the sweetness, along with that tartness you expect as well. The ice is strong here, so the throat hit is prominent.

Kiwi Passionfruit Guava

Overall, it’s a nice version of this flavour. The guava is the strongest but the passionfruit winds through it as well, and the kiwi mellows it all down afterwards but doesn’t take over or seem separate like it sometimes can on this profile.

Triple Mango

I’m still trying to figure out why it’s always called triple mango but it’s a nice mango that’s not too sweet, and there’s a hint of creaminess in there for me as well that rounds it off nicely. There is sweetness there, but it doesn’t take over at all and compliments everything else that’s going on.

Ultimate Edition - Black

Lemon and Lime

Right away you get the lemon, but the lime also comes on quickly and mixes in well to give a lovely citrus mix. It’s sweet but the citrus notes cut though it perfectly to give you the tang of the lime and the slight bitter sour of the lemon. A good version of a staple flavour.

Blue Razz Ice

It’s a classic blue raspberry flavour without too much of the ice effect in it. The blue part is sweet and toned, with the rasp part being tart enough without being too sweet. There’s not much more I can say as it’s just what it says in the name.

Pineapple Ice

It’s the only repeat flavour of the bunch so I’ll just copy and paste what I’ve said above.

What a nice pineapple. There’s a good range of the fruit itself in there with the juice, the chunks and the sweetness, along with that tartness you expect as well. The ice is strong here, so the throat hit is nice.

Cherry Ice

Again we have the slight marzipanny cherry, which leans more to a black cherry flavour than a red but has aspects of both in there.  It’s a bit sweeter than the fizzy cherry, and again I feel the fizzy one has just that little bit more body. It doesn't take away from this one though as it is still very nice.

Conclusion

Avomi have done the flavours well, they’re the same as most disposable juices and there’s always that overarching sweetness and cooling that most others have, but some of the flavours here are done nicely, with a bit of depth to them.

The device itself is solidly built and it’s probably the first 4in1 I’ve had that feels like a ‘proper’ device rather than an over sized disposable. It all fits and clicks together nicely, and the light up Avomi for the battery indicator is also a cool touch.

You can buy the Avomi Fliq from TECC for £11.99 and the replacement pods are also available there for £4.99.

Pros
  • Solidly built
  • Flavours are good
  • Easy to open the top
Cons
  • Still disposable alike and a bit sweet for me

I was a very militant smoker for many years…why would I stop doing the only thing I had left that I liked doing?  Then I fell into vaping in 2017.  My wife bought a cheap kit off from Amazon that stopped working and I took it to a local vape shop to see what they could do with it.  An hour later and full of new knowledge about watts, ohms, and juice strength, I headed home with a new nautilus mini tank for her and raved to her about the helpful guy in the shop. I must have bored her with all my new found information.  I tried her vape that night, and a week later bought my own kit. Then I found POTV and the amazingly helpful and generous people on it. A month later I was making my own (disgusting) vape juice, and a month after that I was winding coils for my new RDA.  Six years on and I'm much better at making juice, and I now have no money but lots of shiny mods and tanks
