The E-Cigarette Company (TECC) sent the whole range of these OXVA OX Passion e-liquids out for me to try. There are 20 flavours in the range, so it’ll be another long one.
OXVA are primarily a pod device manufacturer, but we have seen hardware makers come out with their own juice ranges lately, see the Vaporesso Deliciu reviews for proof, and the plus side of this is that the juices are pretty much tailored to the kits these brands make so you know they’re going to be decent. The OX Passion range is particularly aimed at those who use the OXVA pod systems, mainly the Xlim range, but you can use them with anything, as I’ll prove here. I used them on my MTL RDA with a 26awg round wire and some Cotton Gods cotton, and I’m pretty sure the flavours will be even stronger when using a pod system that’s got mesh coils in it.
I was sent 10mg salts and the VG/PG ratio is 50/50 for MTL blasting. The juices are very strong bar salt style liquids with a lot of sweetener and cooling in them, so if that’s not your thing, then this review will be meaningless. If you do like this type of vape, then strap in, we’ve got 20 flavours to get through.
Cherry Fizz
“The Cherry Fizz is a vibrant cherry taste with sugary soda tones”
I started with the cherry as I am loving cherry vapes right now, and this one doesn’t disappoint. They’re definitely bar salt juices as the ice hits you straight away with every flavour and there’s a big amount of sweetener, but with these ones, it is usually measured against the flavour strength. This is a nice, sweet cherry with no off flavours. There is a touch of marzipan about the smell but that doesn’t translate to the taste at all. It has a fizz to it, and the sweetener really helps to make it a sweet cherry rather than overpowering like some bar salts do.
Blueberry Pom
“The Blue Pom is a blend of tart pomegranate with sweet blueberry”
It ends up as a nice fruity mixture. The blueberry has a slight perfume to it but that’s mitigated by the tart sweetness of the pomegranate. The pomegranate really lifts up the blueberry and adds a lovely aspect to it. Over my time with the range, I’ve noticed they do really like the blueberry, and they should as it is a very good one.
Paradise Punch
“The Paradise Punch is an exotic blend of sweet fruits with a citrus kick”
I get a lot of mango at first then the other tropical fruits kick in. The citrus makes it kind of dry for me and there’s almost a flat alcohol vibe to it as well, so I think they’re going for a cocktail type of vape here. Despite the dryness, the vape is very smooth, and as you vape on, the different aspects come to light.
Lemon Lime
“The Lemon Lime is a citrus blend of sweet lemon and bitter lime”
I disagree with the blurb here. I’m finding it’s a sweet but bitter lemo,n and the lime takes away the bitterness with a BOSH at the end. It’s a very nice citrus mix, and it’s got a good blast of cold to it as well.
Blue Mist
“The Blue Mist is a blueberry vapour with hints of mixed berries”
Yep it’s blueberry with a mad mash up of berries in it. It’s super fruity and there’s definitely some raspberry in there. It’s so much of what I like in a vape, and it tastes almost like the juice in a melted ice pole (ice pop). It is a very sweet one, but whatever berries are in there go so well with the blueberry they’re using.
Cherry Peach Lemon
“The Cherry Peach Lemon is a delicious vapour with cherry, peach, and lemon tones”
This one’s cold. Lemon comes on first, then I get the peach, and it’s a very nice peach. The cherry gives it a lovely overall sweetness. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but the three flavours mix nicely for a different take on a fruit e-liquid, and I’m now a fan of it.
Strawberry Melon
“The Strawberry Melon is a blend of fresh strawberry and ripe melon”
This combo can be hit or miss for me, but this one is a hit. The watermelon is realistic but very sweet, and the strawberry is, again, sweet and fruity. It’s super sweet but it works very well for a nice take on the combination.
Strawberry Raspberry Cherry
“The Strawberry Raspberry Cherry is a sweet medley of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry”
These descriptions kind of give away what you’re getting but they are good to discern what I’m meant to have been tasting, and what I taste is what the description says here. I get the strawberry first, then the cherry, and the raspberry kind of sneaks in at the end with a tang and a slight sourness before leaving you with strawberry on the aftertaste again. Another one that’s very sweet and coats the mouth.
Triple Mango
“The Triple Mango is a triple mango flavour bursting sweet and citrus tones”
Ooohhhh now this is mango, MANGO! It’s very sweet, very ripe, and very nice. It’s another that coats your mouth, but the flavour underneath the sweetness is very deep, and it’s another that changes as you vape on it. Sometimes it’s ripe, sometimes there’s an earthiness. Overall it’s very sweet but quite realistic at the same time.
Berry Lemon
“The Berry Lemon is a sweet bursting berry vapour with lemon notes”
I get lemon with a burst of berries on the end on this one. It tastes a little soapy at first but gets better as you vape on it. I’m afraid to say this is the first (and only) miss in the whole range for me, which is pretty good going, considering there are twenty flavours. As always, this is just my opinion, different people will taste different things.
Pina Daiquiri
“The Pina Daquiri is a tropical pineapple daiquiri with a passion fruit twist”
I swear to God I only look at the descriptions as I’m typing up my review. The description above is exactly what this tastes like! I get pineapple juice mainly, with a touch of passionfruit. In the end this one tastes like a lovely tropical virgin cocktail.
Blue Razz Gummy
“The Blue Razz Gummy is a sour raspberry and blueberry candy flavour”
As always with this range of OXVA juices, you get the hit of cold first. This one has a blast of blue raspberry that settles into a gummy like sweetness. The aftertaste is almost sticky, like you’ve chewed on the sweet itself for a bit.
Bru Pop
“The Bru Pop is a classic soda bru taste with bubble gum layers”
I know what this is meant to taste like very well, having grown up on the stuff. It’s a reasonable attempt at Irn Bru, and the description above has enlightened me as to what I was missing with it as I was judging it on the bru alone. I thought it caught the tang of Irn Bru quite well but was far too sweet, and now I know there’s a bubblegum element, I realise why. Overall, I’m not quite getting the bite you get from bru, if you know you know. Still a nice juice that matches the description.
Blue Sour Razz
“The Blue Sour Razz is an extra sour raspberry vapour with hints of blue berries”
The blueberry hits me first with the sour raspberry coming in after. It’s not mouth puckering sour but what e-liquid is? It is definitely there though, and that’s good as I find a lot of the sour labelled juices fall flat. This is the first one for me that I’d prefer without the ice as I’m not really that big on cool juices, but if you like the ice, then it’s a great one.
Mint Mix
“The Mint Mix is a mint medley of menthol, peppermint, and spearmint with an ice cool tingle”
I can’t discern a particular mint overall in this, funny that, as it’s a mint mix and I’m probably not supposed to. On one draw it tastes like peppermint, on another it’s like spearmint, and it’s like you get what you’re looking for at first. As you go on, it’s just a lovely minty vape with a nice level of sweetness to it. You can almost taste the mint leaves as well, which is something I love about it.
Mixed Grapes
“The Mixed Grapes is a blend of juicy purple grapes and sweet green grapes”
It has the dark dryness of a red grape and the boost of sweet green grapes in there. It’s slightly floral but that really does work here to leave a lovely grape flavour in your mouth. It’s sweet as hell and gets better as you vape on it. Really nice for a grape vape as it’s not a profile I particularly enjoy usually.
Pineapple Freeze
“The Pineapple Freeze is a luscious pineapple with a frozen inhale”
Oh, I love this one. It’s a really strong pineapple with a syrupy sweetness, just like the juice out of a tin of pineapples, making for a pineapple that I really enjoy, exactly what I look for in a pineapple vape. The ice isn’t so prevalent for me, but that’s maybe because I’m getting the flavour I lust for from the pineapple. PINEAPPLE!!!
Senorita
“The Senorita is a pink lemonade vapour with layer of tangy orange”
I did not get pink lemonade when I tasted this but I did get a lot of pineapple and tropical style flavours with a lovely kick of orange. Whatever is in it, it’s lovely. One of the better ones, and very much one you can vape on for a while. It’s quite icy as well.
Blue Citrus
“The Blue Citrus is a blue raspberry with a fizzy lemonade kick”
Another blue raspberry, and this one tastes quite jammy to me. It also has a blast of sweet lemonade and that mixes in well with the jamminess of the blueberry and raspberry. It makes for a lovely vape, and is another that I could quite happily toot on all day long.
Berries Burst
“The Berries Burst is a juicy selection of wild berries”
It’s a nice forest fruit style berry mix. Again, it’s quite sweet, but not overly so as berries are supposed to be sweet. I’m getting a bit of perfume from blueberries but that mixes in well with the other dark berries and wild raspberries that are in there. A nice juice to finish on.
Conclusion
These OXVA OX Passion e-liquids are very well made and will go brilliantly with the OXVA devices, as well as whatever you vape on yourself. They have very strong flavours, and they have the customary sweetener and cooling for bar salts, so if that’s your thing then you’ll really enjoy them as the flavours underneath are just so well done.
Out of all twenty, I only disliked one of them and for me, that’s a big thing. I love the fruitiness of them all, and some of the combinations are new to me and have given me ideas for my own DIY stuff, so I like OXVA for that.
Thanks again to TECC for sending the OXVA OX Passion range over for review. You can buy them for £3.99 each on their site, or bundle them up with 4 for £9.99.
- Nicely crafted flavours go well with the bar salt style
- Most are lovely and fruity
- Blue Raspberry ones are a highlight
- Just the one flavour that I didn’t get on with
Stephen Gitsham
Reviewer at POTVI was a very militant smoker for many years…why would I stop doing the only thing I had left that I liked doing? Then I fell into vaping in 2017. My wife bought a cheap kit off from Amazon that stopped working and I took it to a local vape shop to see what they could do with it. An hour later and full of new knowledge about watts, ohms, and juice strength, I headed home with a new nautilus mini tank for her and raved to her about the helpful guy in the shop. I must have bored her with all my new found information. I tried her vape that night, and a week later bought my own kit. Then I found POTV and the amazingly helpful and generous people on it. A month later I was making my own (disgusting) vape juice, and a month after that I was winding coils for my new RDA. Six years on and I'm much better at making juice, and I now have no money but lots of shiny mods and tanks
