NU-FILL Longfill kits from NU VAPE

NU VAPE are bringing something new to the e-liquid scene with their NU-FILL range of super tasty juices

At NU VAPE, they like to do things differently, and they could be a breath of fresh air when it comes to crafting high class e-liquids. They very kindly sent in three of their NU-FILL longfill kits for us to test out.

About NU VAPE

So I am guessing NU VAPE may be a new name to a lot of readers, and yes, they are a pretty new brand, but the team behind them has been around for a very long time, relatively speaking in vape terms. In fact some of my earliest vape memories come from vaping juice designed by them. Now I’m not going to give any spoilers here, but I would suggest any older vapers should give some of the NU VAPE juices a try and see if you can work it out as there is a certain quality that is pretty unmistakable.

But if you are a newer vaper, none of that matters. What does matter is that you are in very safe hands. NU VAPE are, above all, absolutely passionate about vaping and helping as many people as possible achieve a smokefree lifestyle. They are definitely adult orientated, they produce sophisticated flavours, designed on a molecular level, that should appeal to mature tastes. You won’t be finding any candy flavours or generic disposable flavours here, these are e-liquids for the discerning vaper.

As you would expect, everything they sell of fully TPD compliant, their flavours are produced from the finest vape grade flavours, and they conform to the highest ISO 9001 QMS standards. NU VAPE mean business!

About NU-FILLs

You’ve probably heard of shortfills and longfills, but as I said right at the start, NU VAPE do things differently, and that starts with their own format, the NU-FILL. They are pretty similar to longfills, in that you get a bottle with the flavours to which you add nic shots which will give you a bottle of e-liquid, but they have added their own little twist.

When you get your bundle, you will get a bottle containing what looks like a small amount of flavour concentrate, and two NU-BRID shots that you add to the bigger bottle to mix your final liquid. Don’t be put off by the small amount of flavour, trust me, these are supercharged, and it is plenty enough to make some seriously tasty e-liquid.

The nic shots are where things get even more interesting as they aren’t your standard freebase or salts that you normally get with long/shortfills. NU-BRID contains the usual PG and VG, but the nicotine is a secret blend freebase and salts which means you get the instant hit followed by a slower release which should help to satisfy any vaper’s cravings. It also means you get a smoother vape that shouldn’t cause any irritation whilst still giving it that lovely throat hit that lets you know you’ve just had a good vape.

Thanks to the NU-FILL format, you can also get a stronger e-liquid that you get with shortfills. They range from 5mg up to 20mg in 5mg increments. This is great as it gives people an easy way to reduce their nic intake over time. When you first quit smoking, you will need a stronger e-liquid, so 20mg is perfect to stop the cravings, but over a few months, you should be able to drop down to a stable level. I usually vape 6mg, but for this review, I went for 10mg so I could find out for myself just how smooth the vape was, and let me tell you, it was as smooth as it gets.

The final beauty of this format is that you don’t need to worry about a thing, just order the strength you need, and you will get the correct level of NU-BRID shots to add to the base flavour. You don’t need to make any calculations or do any maths, just pour in the small bottles into the big bottle and away you go with the final 25ml of juice.

The Concept

If you check out the site, you will see a list of intriguing flavour names, and I randomly clicked through all of them to find out what they were about. Instead of the regular basic flavour descriptions, you are presented with a bio of each character that the e-liquids are named after. Now I will admit that at first, I thought it was a bit cheesy, but then I got to the Bloody Holly bio, and something about it struck a nerve. Whilst I was never glamourous, I totally related to her back story, the struggle, the guilt, and the feeling of absolute revelation when I discovered the potential of vaping. Even after reading it, I still kept thinking about my own personal journey, and I am sure most vapers will find their character which reminds them of why they started vaping in the first place.

The Flavours

Now we get the real meat of the review, after all high concept stuff is all very well, but if the flavours don’t match the hype, then it all means nothing. I was sent three flavours to try, Bloody Holly, Jody Punch, and Rose Dragon. Checking the site, after you get through the bio, it does also tell you the basic flavours so you aren’t left with a total mystery. After all, I am not sure I could pick up any clues from the names alone.

Rose Dragon

Rose Dragon is described as pink lemonade / dragon fruit / cool, an interesting combo. Now I admit, I’ve only tried dragon fruit once and I don’t think it was ripe as it didn’t really taste of anything, so I can’t confirm how authentic the flavour is, but I’d say it is a great take on a fresh lemonade, with a floral, delicate twist. It is a very refreshing flavour too, which leaves you feeling clean after each vape. The flavour seems to change as you go too, sometimes you get more of the lemon edge, and then dragon fruit pops in and dances around it, highlighting different notes as you go. It also says it is cool, this doesn’t mean iced though, it is more of a fresh sensation. It was also the sweetest of the three flavours I was sent, but it is a very natural sweetness, no hints of artificial sweeteners which is a huge relief as I am really sensitive to that taste.

Bloody Holly

Bloody Holly is blend of blood orange and passion fruit, an unusual paring that I wouldn’t have thought of but really they are obvious bedfellows. I love citrus flavours when they are handled correctly, and they play nicely with the exotic tang of the passion fruit. You also get a great throat hit thanks to the flavour combination, but it is still silky smooth, it is a lovely sensation. The orange is delicious, juicy and sweet but with that tart bite following up, it is a very authentic flavour. Passion fruit not only tastes great, but it adds a bit of weight to the orange. Again, the flavours seem to move about and change as you vape, something you only get with meticulously crafted recipes.

Jody Punch

Jody Punch is a double hit of pineapple and grapefruit, here we go again with two flavours that are such a natural fit and yet I don’t think I’ve seen it before. Pineapple is one of my favourite flavours, and this didn’t disappoint. Part of what I love about a good pineapple flavour is the sensation, that throaty feeling as you inhale, and this is amped up by the addition of the sharp grapefruit. It is so good. Again, the flavours taste very organic and natural, this is a mature e-liquid for people who value real flavour. Grapefruit is a woefully underappreciated flavour too; it adds a really zesty twang to the mix. This could easily be an all-day vape for me.

Final Thoughts

I have loved my time with these NU-FILL e-liquids from NU VAPE. In a world full of generic, basic flavours, it makes such a nice change to vape something that challenges what e-liquid can be. These are flavours to be savoured, the more you vape them, the more you appreciate the delicate balance of the recipes, and the carefully crafting that has gone into each bottle. You can tell they have been made with love; they have a level of detail that seems to have been mostly forgotten in recent years. These are some very special juices.

If that has whetted your appetite, check out the NU VAPE site and take a look at what they have to offer. The NU-FILL bundles are a very reasonable £8.50 and that includes everything you need to mix up what you need, and if you spend over £20, postage is free. They also have a great loyalty scheme you can sign up for which rewards repeat customers with some great perks such as a points scheme, a birthday boost, and early access to new products in development. This sounds great as NU VAPE are definitely a brand to watch.

Many thanks to NU VAPE for sending in the NU-FILLs in for review. They have also given us an exclusive discount code “1mbigpuffs” which give you a nice 15% off!

When her usual forum closed, Michelle found herself in a brave new world full of excitement that something fresh and new was happening. A few days later she somehow found herself on the moderating team and is still not really sure how that happened. Even stranger, she slowly worked her way up to admin and now helps behind the scenes, liasing with vendors and coordinating social media but she can still be found making smutty comments on the forum. If all that wasn't enough, she also is a proud member of the Potv review team specialising in E-liquid reviews for the discerning vaper.
