It’s that time of the week again where we get to check out one of the awesome new ranges from Nixer courtesy of Vape Club, and this week feels pretty fitting as the seasons are changing, and there is a chill in the air, so let’s bring on the Yeti! No, I’m not talking about the stinky old beast that is rumoured to live somewhere in the Himalayas, these are a totally different animal, a selection of the finest, frosty, fruity e-liquids ever to grace the frozen slopes of Vape land!

We have been closely following the Nixer ethos for the last few weeks now, so I am sure most readers are well versed in the concept. But if you are late to the party, Nixer are a new concept in longfill e-liquids, where you get a bottle of super concentrated e-liquid flavouring and a pack of Nixer Mixer shots which, when combined together, make 60ml of oh so tasty e-liquid. It is a great way to make a good amount of e-liquid at a really tempting price. But there’s more, as you aren’t stuck with one way to mix things up. You can choose between salts or freebase to match your preference and hardware, you can vary the strength from between 0mg to 10mg, and you can even up the icicles but adding an iced Nixer Mixer kit, and believe me, this isn’t for the fainthearted, these are seriously fr-fr-fr-fresh! This makes the Nixer format one of the most customisable e-liquids to date, so whether you are a pod using MTL vaper, or a cloud chasing fiend, you can mix up the perfect e-liquid for you.

Yeti comes straight from the genius minds of the Dispergo flavour wizards, so you should already know you are in for a serious amount of flavour. But the Yeti range add in their own blast of chill to round things off. Now I will admit that I had been holding out on this particular range as I am not keen on brain freeze, but thankfully the chill is just that, a smooth, pronounced yet gentle cooling which is fresh but not uncomfortably so. I really think the balance is perfect, it has a strong signature, but it never threatens to cast shade on the flavours.

So let’s get on to the flavours themselves. There are five flavours in the range, all fruit based mixed with the ice. Now we have clearly gone over the cooling, so I am not going to bring it up for each bottle, but just keep it in the back of your mind. As for the main flavouring, these range from single fruit recipes to more complicated blends with some genuinely interesting and unusual combinations. It was one of those ranges where every bottle hit the mark, and if you asked me to pick a favourite, I rather pick my favourite child, they are that strong!

Passionfruit Lychee Ice

Passionfruit Lychee Ice longfill by Nixer x Yeti delivers an exotic and cool fruit vape. Sweet passionfruit and juicy lychee notes combine with a frosty ice exhale”

First bottle, and the surprises are already coming in. I was expecting the passionfruit to lead as it is such a dominant flavour, but here, the lychee is grabbing the headline spot. I have never had such a strong lychee, but even though it is a massive flavour, it still managed to retain an authenticity. It really does taste like the fruit, minus the weird skin and the gross eyeball stone. It is phenomenal, no other word for it. The passionfruit backs it up well though, lifting the sweet levels and adding a tangy, tropical feel. These really are brilliant fruits to mix together, and it is a combination I would never have thought of.

Pineapple Ice

Pineapple Ice longfill by Nixer x Yeti features a sweet and frosty flavour. The juicy taste of tropical pineapple is cooled by crisp notes of ice on exhale”

This is a much simpler affair, but don’t let that put you off as this is top tier pineapple at it’s best. It is sweet, it is juicy, it is smooth, and it is just divine. It manages to get the texture of fresh pineapple, and it really nails the mouthfeel with the right balance of raspiness as it slips down. It goes to prove that sometimes it pays to keep things simple.

Sour Grape Ice

Sour Grape Ice longfill by Nixer x Yeti is a simple frozen fruit blend. The sharp taste of grape is frozen by an arctic ice exhale”

I’ve had plenty of sour cherry, and sour raspberry flavours, but sour grape? This is a new one on my, but I’m certainly not feeling salty about it. I actually think I prefer the mix of sour and grape, sometimes the fruit alone can get a bit too heavy. This changes things up and raises the game. Add in the ice, and you’ve got a truly unique flavour.

Sour Raspberry Watermelon Ice

Sour Raspberry Watermelon Ice longfill by Nixer x Yeti delivers a unique fruit blend. Sweet, exotic notes of watermelon fuse with the tangy taste of raspberry and cool ice”

Back with the sour, and this is definitely more cheekpullingly sharp  than the Sour Grape.  It really is very sour, and I am totally onboard. What I think is interesting is that the sour really is only on the raspberry, and the watermelon retains its own sweetness which lightens things up and also highlights the refreshingly juicy melon.

Strawberry Lemon Ice

Strawberry Lemon Ice longfill by Nixer x Yeti is a balanced frozen fruit blend. The tangy flavour of lemon is sweetened by juicy notes of strawberry and chilled by an arctic ice finish”

This is more lemon than strawberry, and it could easily have carried the sour tag in its title too as this is sharp. Then the strawberry comes in, and it is a sweet, candy like flavour to add a perfect offset to the lemon. This is definitely about the flavour balancing, a very fine line to walk, but this e-liquid does it very well.

Final Thoughts

Yet another winning selection from the Nixer line-up, what I am really impressed with is how each sub brand has its own distinct signature. All of the flavours are bold and intense, but the cool chill brings it all together. I think there is enough cooling to keep the fresh fans happy whilst also being accessible to less adventurous vapers. But really, the flavours are the real stars of the show, and this is where Nixer really stand their card. If you like big flavours, you really can’t go wrong here.

If you’d like to feel the chill for yourself, head over to Vape Club where you can pick a bottle (or five!) for £11.99 a pack all in. If you want to grab a few bottles, these are also in the 2 for £20 offer, which makes them outstanding value for money.

Many thanks to Vape Club for sending over the Nixer X Yeti range in for review.
