A few months back, we got a first look at a new e-liquid line on the block by Nixer, an innovative kit form juice with so many options to tailor your vape to exactly your requirements. I was impressed, both by the format and the flavours, so when Vape Club asked if I’d like to check out some new flavours, of course the answer was yes! What I wasn’t expecting was just how many flavours would be arriving, so I nearly had a heart attack by the size of the box that arrived! Thankfully there are several new subcategories with some very familiar flavours, and we will be checking them all out over the coming weeks.

By now you should know what a longfill is, as we have covered quite a few brands that are championing the format over recent months, but for a quick catch up, you can always check out our guide which covers all the ins and outs. But if you can’t be bothered and just want to get stuck in, the basic idea is that they are larger bottles filled with a small but intense flavour concentrate blend, and then you add a combination of nic shots and unflavoured base to make up a full bottle. Where these are different from your regular shortfill e-liquids is that thanks to their highly concentrated nature, you can add more shots and base to give you much more freedom when it comes to the strength levels so instead of being stuck with the standard shortfill 3mg, with longfills, you can push things out to get up to 10mg which makes them a much more attractive option, especially if you haven’t been vaping that long. You can also choose between salts of freebase nicotine, depending on what you prefer, and Nixer even offer iced shots, and believe me, these are some frosty little devils! For these reviews, I am keeping everything on a level playing field and all of the flavours I will be checking out have all been mixed using the freebase 6mg N6 Nixer Mixer kits.

When I said in the intro that some of these new flavours were very familiar, I wasn’t kidding. If you have been following my reviews for a while, you will know that one of my all-time favourite UK e-liquid producers is Dispergo, and Nixer is their latest baby, and the reason there are so many flavours is that they have brought over a ton of their classics. So if, like me, you already love Dispergo brands, you probably don’t even need to read any more, just go and order a load and I can guarantee you’ll be in vape heaven.

Saying that, we are kicking things off with a line that is new to me, the Ice Breaker range. As you can probably guess from the name, these are frosty fresh flavours, mixed with some classic fruit and sweet bases. I was a little apprehensive at first as I am not the biggest fan of super fresh ice flavours, but these have been sympathetically done, rather than being an icy blast, these are more of a frosty tickle which means you get a cool sensation whilst also being able to enjoy all the flavour with no distractions. This is just how I like my iced vapes to feel.

Blackcurrant & Mango Ice

Two of my favourite fruits to vape, I was very much looking forward this combo. On the initial sniff test, I couldn’t decide which aroma was more dominant, you clearly get both mango and blackcurrant loud and clear, but they are really there in equal measure. On to the vape, and this carries over so you get a really well balanced blend of two flavours that you may not immediately think of as perfect partners, but boy does it work. The blackcurrant is thick and dark with a sharp tang which cuts through the sweet, tropical, juicy mango so you get the best of both fruits in one delicious mouthful.

Blueberry Raspberry Ice

Once again, Dispergo’s flavour mastery shines through. You may think “well how hard is it to mix two flavours together”, and it is a good question as it is easy to check a couple of fruits together and come up with something vapable, but the real skill comes in getting the fine balance right so the flavours work together rather than fighting in the bottle, and this is where Dispergo really excel. The blueberry gives it a more delicate, almost floral note, and the raspberry is sweet and tart, mixed together and they just elevate each other to another level.

Bubblegum Ice

Nobody does bubblegum like Dispergo! Plenty of other juices get the basic flavour right, but here you even get that light sugar dusting you get which a freshly unwrapped piece of gum. I don’t know how they do it, but it is the most authentic gum flavour out there and after vaping various Dispergo gum flavours for a good few years now, I can say they have never been beaten. Imagine your classic dubble bubble or hubba bubba, and that is what you get here from start to finish.

Lemon Lime Ice

A classic vape flavour, and one that is very hard to mess up, so I’ve tried many great lemon/lime flavours over the years. This still manages to carve its own niche, blending the two citrus buddies beautifully. I think it leans slightly more to the lime side which means you get a silky smooth vape, still sharp and clean, but a little less aggressive than some versions out there. It is everything you’d want from a lemon lime though; it ticks all the boxes.

Pineapple Ice

Another of my favourite base flavours, there certainly is a lot for me personally to love in the Ice Breaker range! Again, you may think that a single flavour e-liquid can’t really do much more than any other juice of the same type, but it is all about the subtle little differences. This pineapple is the perfect mix of sweet and almost syrupy with the sharper, almost textured feel of the real fruit. It is more like a top brand fresh pineapple juice where you get the full range of flavour all in one glass. Pineapple doesn’t get better than this.

Sour Cherry Ice

Saving the best till last, at least for my tastes at any rate. Anyone who knows me, also knows the journey I have been on for many years to hunt down the finest cherry flavours, and it has been a long, hard path to travel as there are some right rough cherry vapes out there. Thankfully things have improved dramatically in recent years, so I haven’t had any truly awful ones for a while now, and this continues here with this dark and decadent black cherry flavour. It has that signature richness and depth, but it is also seriously juicy, and it isn’t trying to be too clever, instead it just delivers a very satisfying and authentic cherry flavour. I could easily vape this all day every day.

Final Thoughts

I’m pretty sure it will be quite obvious how I feel about the new Nixer Ice Breaker range by now, it is a hard hitting line up, all killer and no filler. Each flavour is perfect, with strong tasty ingredients and a great sense of balance which enhances what could be some deceptively simple recipes. Dispergo have long been the masters of their art, and it seems time has done nothing to diminish their passion for pure flavour.

My only slight complaint is the actual bottles themselves. One or two really didn’t want to come unsealed and I had to fight to get in. Once the lids were off, it was plain sailing, but just be aware that you may need to dig out some tools to help you get to the good stuff first time round.
