Thank you to Sourcemore for sending this onto me for review. I was very keen to review this as I used the Original Caliburn to quit smoking in Sept 2019 and have since recommended Uwell devices on many occasions. Still now I use the original Koko, it’s always in my rotation and I love those pods!
Ok so how does the Koko Prime compare to its predecessors and what are my thoughts?…….let’s find out

Opening the box, of course it was packaged well as you expect from Uwell. I was impressed visually, I love the design and colour, very funky. I received the purple which I probably would have chosen if I had the choice so happy days! To confirm the pod is the same as the Caliburn G which I also have had the privilege to review.
The coils are replaceable. You get 2 x Kanthal 1ohm wire coils, but you can also use the Meshed 0.8ohm coil which has a mesh structure. Please note this coil was not included in the kit but can be purchased separately. I did have a look and some vendors sell the kit with both coils so be vigilant when purchasing this.
To be honest, there is not much more to say about the pod and coil as its exactly the same as the Caliburn G, easy top fill design, nice clear material, easy coil installation. It has the dual airflow with one side having a cut out for an airier vape and other does not, very effective. You can tell the difference between the 2 airflow settings.
The device itself is slightly thicker than the original Koko, you can see this by looking at the pictures I included, but it is still small and compact. At the base you have the usb-C charging port along with some battery ventilation holes. It does have a bigger 690mAh battery compared to its predecessor which was 520mAh so that is a nice increase for an MTL device. It lasts me all my working day no problem at all. I like that you could change up the front and back panels to something subtler, it’s a little different and a nice touch. It has the section at the top for you to attach the enclosed lanyard, it's not really my thing but I know many others use a lanyard.
To check your battery levels, there is an LED light indicator – RED means it is below 30%, BLUE within 30-60%, and GREEN is over 60%. The output of 15W is perfect for the 1.0ohm coil, and the vapour production is as you would expect, it won’t cloud up the car or anything. The flavour is very good from the coil, but I did have some mild leakage once or twice but nothing major. It comes with the territory unfortunately. There is no fire button, it is auto draw and that functionality works very well indeed. It’s extremely reactive and I had no issues there.
What I Like
- Nice compact size and feels good in the hand
- Great colours and designs
- Airflow works well
- Flavour from the coil is excellent
- Bigger battery
- Easy refill with clear pods
- Option for using a lanyard
- Changeable plates
- So easy to use
Niggles
- Slight leaking (very slight)
- Wish they had included a 0.8ohm coil
DeeDees overall Score – 8.5/10 – This kit will be making its way to another member this week who I am sure will enjoy it.
