Joyetech EVIO M Pro Kit

Stephen goes in for round 2 with the new Joyetech Evio M Pro kit

I was recently sent the Joyetech Evio M Pro Pod Kit to have a shot on by The Electronic Cigarette Company (TECC).

I’ve already reviewed the Evio M and was quite surprised by how good it was. In particular, the coils in the pods seem to be very good so I was happy to have a go on the M Pro as they have the same EN coils included in the enclosed pods that come with the device.

The Evio M Pro is a pod kit with a 1100mah internal battery that goes up to a maximum of 30W. It has a USB Type C charging port on it and is supposed to charge at 5V/1amp so, while not super-fast charging, it will charge up nicely. There’s a screen embedded in the device itself that allows you to track the battery level and see what wattage you’ve set, and the device allows for both auto draw and button press draw. You can use the range of Evio Grip pods in it, along with the newer Evio M Pro pods that allow for slide top filling. Also compatible are the Evio Grip cartridges that allow you to just replace the coil, so there are a ton of options there.

In the box you get:

  • 1 EVIO M Pro device
  • 1 EVIO M Pro Pod
  • 1 User Manual
  • 1 Warranty Card

The kit itself is pleasingly slim and rounded. It’s comfortable to hold and everything is placed well. The button is smallish and on the side. There is airflow control on this one and it’s placed on the back so it’s harder to cover up when you’re using the button. On the opposite side from the button there’s the USB Type C port so you can charge the device standing up rather than having to put it on its side.

On the front is some subtle branding, Joyetech at the top and Evio Pro M at the bottom, and they’re not intrusive. What I really like is the screen, it’s integrated into the body of the battery section. It’s a simple display, you can only see the battery level and the wattage when you press the button lightly, but it does note what ohm coil/pod you have in when you place the pod in and, to add to that, when you take a draw, the puff count pops up for you for two or three seconds, before showing the wattage and battery level again, all in nice big characters so those who have sight issues will be catered to. It’s an innovative design that I really like, and I never call anything innovative! (Queue all my reviews from now on using that word).

As with the Evio M without the pro on the end, the vape on this little kit is superb. The coils give cracking flavour, and the vapour production is good as well as being a nicely smooth draw. On the Pro, you have the added bonus of being able to adjust your wattage, three clicks of the button will let you go in and increase the wattage. As usual with these kind of kits, it’s a round robin system so if you miss what you’re going for, you just keep going until it hits 30W then goes back to 1. The airflow system is good as well, similar to other kits from other manufacturers that utilise the same idea. Fully open, you can get a nicely restricted RDL draw and the 0.8ohm Evio M Pro pod lets you use higher VG juices without a burny hit as well as being great for lower ratios as well, given that’s what it was designed for. You can adjust airflow as you like, and the lowest setting is a nice tight draw so all types of MTL vapers are catered for here.

The pod you get with this one is the Evio M Pro version, and the Pro pod is as good as the Evio Grip pods for the vape. It has the same EN coil in it so it vapes similar, as I already said, nice and smooth. The difference with this one is that you slide the top to fill. I didn’t realise this at first, so I tried to snap off the mouthpiece then looked all over for a silicone plug, then had to actually look at the manual to see how to fill up. The mouthpiece slides across to reveal a little silicone square that you push the nib of your bottle through. Unfortunately, like all pods, you can’t use the big boston bottle tips on it as they’re too large, but most of us will use a standard bottle anyway so it’s not an issue. The pod has magnets on it to connect to the battery section and the magnets are nice and strong, so the pod doesn’t fly out when you drop it or flick your wrist.

Final Thoughts

Joyetech have done another great job here with the Evio M Pro Kit. The coils in the pods give you a nice flavour, a nice draw, and a nice amount of vapour, and the auto draw does not stutter at all. The Pro 0.8ohm pod lets you use 70/30 juice without burning the wick, which is getting rarer these days, and the display and overall interface, although simple, is nice as well. I love that there’s no screen on the device, it just makes the kit look cleaner and more simple than it is. I also love that everything is placed well to avoid covering the airflow.

Personally I think the Evio M Pro is better than the Evio M, it suits my needs better anyway. It definitely stands well with the other ‘Pro’ pod kits that are around at the moment, and the fact that there are three different kinds of pods to use might even make it stand out a bit from the others as well.

You can buy the Joyetech Evio M pro kit from TECC for £14.99 and it comes with their offer of a free 10ml bottle of liquid as well to get you started right away.

Thaks again to TECC for letting me try this kit.

Pros
  • I love the design, the hidden screen rocks
  • Nice smooth vape
  • Good flavour from the coils in the pods
Cons
  • None for me

I was a very militant smoker for many years…why would I stop doing the only thing I had left that I liked doing?  Then I fell into vaping in 2017.  My wife bought a cheap kit off from Amazon that stopped working and I took it to a local vape shop to see what they could do with it.  An hour later and full of new knowledge about watts, ohms, and juice strength, I headed home with a new nautilus mini tank for her and raved to her about the helpful guy in the shop. I must have bored her with all my new found information.  I tried her vape that night, and a week later bought my own kit. Then I found POTV and the amazingly helpful and generous people on it. A month later I was making my own (disgusting) vape juice, and a month after that I was winding coils for my new RDA.  Six years on and I'm much better at making juice, and I now have no money but lots of shiny mods and tanks
