Today we are looking at something a bit different. The e-liquid market has been flooded with shortfills and salts which is not a bad thing as it means you have a pretty good chance of picking something off the shelf that will be a decent vape. But there is a downside with ready mixed juice; you can’t really customise your e-liquid to your personal preference. For example, I really am a mouth to lung vaper so all these 70VG/30PG juices aren’t really the best for my style (don’t get me wrong, I love a good cloud as much as the next person, but there is a time and a place, and I will choose flavour over everything else). This is where one shot concentrates come into the picture.
Flavour Craver are a fairly new company, but they have an excellent pedigree. In fact, I would say that anyone who has come from the DIY scene will take one puff and know exactly who is behind the magic here, there is a very distinct style to the flavours that I have tried. Trust me when I say that only someone with a deep understanding of flavours and combinations, someone like a professional gourmet or maybe a chef would be able to mix e-liquid flavours to this kind of deep level.
What is a One Shot Concentrate?
When you buy from Flavour Craver, you are not buying e-liquid, these are concentrates that you use as a flavour base to mix your own juice, so don’t vape them straight! You will need to pick up a few bits to make your e-liquid:
- PG
- VG
- Nicotine
- Bottles
- Scales or measuring syringes.
- E-liquid Calculator
I have ever so slightly cheated with my supplies as I live 10 minutes from a DIY supplier, so I popped in and got some ready mixed 50/50 base. I am going for a pure MTL mix so higher PG is what I was aiming for.
All the flavours come with a suggested percentage which takes the guesswork out of things but if you are good at maths, you could combine a nic shot to make a higher strength, but you would need to adjust your percentages. I’m not that clever so I stuck to the suggested amount of flavour.
I used to DIY all the time and had some really expensive professional grade scales, but it was just my luck that they decided to die on me as I got ready to make my liquids up. But then I had a bolt of inspiration. I am also a bit of a coffee snob and have a set of Timemore Black Mirror coffee scales which are accurate to 0.1 grams. But if you don’t have any precision scales, a measuring syringe will do the job just as well.
To mix things up, find an e-liquid calculator online. You should be able to input your target amount of e-liquid, your PG and VG ratios, and your nicotine strength. Then it is just a case of chucking everything in a bottle and hey presto…you have some fantastic e-liquid tailored perfectly to your personal vaping needs.
Because this is turning in to quite a long review, I am going to go through four flavours this time and then I will leave the next batch for another day, so keep your eyes peeled for the follow up!
The Flavours
If you take a look at the Flavour Craver website, you will find a huge number of flavours to choose from so I would be amazed if anyone struggled to find something they like. But don’t be put off by the sheer volume of choice as I can say hand on heart that whatever you choose will be wonderfully crafted top class gourmet concentrate. Most of them are Shake'n'Vape too which means you can mix them up and vape them straight away, but some will benefit from a bit of steeping time to really bring out the best of the flavours, custards in particular are always better if they have had a bit of time to develop.
So after dusting off my DIY kit, it is time to get down to business, the finished e-liquid!
Blue Lush
“A sweet, mouth-watering slushy without the slush! Sip to your hearts content with this magical Blue Raspberry flavour! Lush!”
The suggested mix for Blue Lush is 10% which is on the lower side so you will be able to mix loads of juice with this one. I made up 30ml of juice so that translated to 6ml of concentrate so I would be able to make up five bottles of e-liquid. Even once you have bought your PG, VG, and nicotine, this still works out to being a real bargain for this kind of quality. I have said in previous reviews that blue raspberry is not one of my favourite flavours but this one is really nice. It actually tastes of raspberry which so many seem to mess up. It is sweet but not sickly. I would say it has quite a floral taste which adds to the more grown up flavour. Flavour Craver also suggest adding a bit of koolada if you want to give it a fresher edge but as a stand-alone flavour, this one hits the balance really well.
Tarte Au Citron
“If you're looking for something incredibly zingy this zesty, creamy lemon tart with the perfect amount of sweetness is just what you're looking for”
I love citrus flavours so I already knew this one would be a bit special, and I wasn’t disappointed. Mixed at 20%, Tarte Au Citron is an indulgent dessert flavour with a layered complex edge. The lemon is the perfect combination of tangy and sweet, it is like proper freshly made lemon curd which is followed up hint of pastry crust. It is just a perfect replication of a posh pud. This is a real treat in a bottle.
Pango
“Pineapple, Mango and a hint of Dragonfruit make up this amazing fruity flavour!”
Don’t let the slightly daft name put you off as Pango is a fruit lovers dream. Mango and Pineapple together are pretty much a guaranteed winning combination, it would take some skill to mess them up, but the addition of dragonfruit is a cunning little twist that helps ground the flavour and gives it a refreshing edge. With the lovely hot summer weather we have at the moment, this is a perfect vape to go with it. Trust me, fill up a tank with this, grab a cold drink and go and find a nice spot to sit in the sun, life doesn’t really get any better than this. This one is also mixed at 20%.
Welsh Custard
“Straight from the beautiful, rolling Welsh Valleys! This traditional, thick, smooth and delectably creamy Vanilla Custard is sure to impress”
Classic custard, rich, creamy, and very decadent. You won’t find this level of flavour in a can of supermarket custard; Welsh Custard is the real thing. Mixed at 20%, this is a full flavoured e-liquid. I’ve vaped many, many custard juices over the years and this is up there with the very best. It is custard but with that Flavour Craver magic twist. It is also surprisingly good freshly mixed but if you want the real magic, try and put it away for a week or so to get the maximum experience. Or do what I have done and mix up two bottles, one to vape and one to put away because once you start, you won’t want to put it down.
Final Thoughts
As I said earlier, the mixers behind Flavour Craver really know what they are doing and I am really happy to see that they are back doing what they do best, producing the highest quality flavours ready to be mixed to make perfectly tailored e-liquids. It is flavours like these that remind me why I love vaping and why it works for so many people who want to stop smoking. Flavours are such an important tool when it comes to going smoke free. If you have never made your own juice, this is a fantastic way to jump in whilst also guaranteeing perfect results every time too.
If this has piqued your interest, you can buy these and many more flavours from Flavour Craver direct. 30ml will cost £8 but it is also worth keeping an eye on the deals as they also have monthly offers with selected flavours at reduced prices. They also offer 100ml bottles so if you find some favourites, you have the option to mix up a ton of e-liquid that will keep you vaping for a very long time.
Many thanks to Flavour Craver for sending these over for review and stay locked on POTV for the next part of our one shots review.

Reviewer at POTVWhen her usual forum closed, Michelle found herself in a brave new world full of excitement that something fresh and new was happening. A few days later she somehow found herself on the moderating team and is still not really sure how that happened. Even stranger, she slowly worked her way up to admin and now helps behind the scenes, liasing with vendors and coordinating social media but she can still be found making smutty comments on the forum. If all that wasn't enough, she also is a proud member of the Potv review team specialising in E-liquid reviews for the discerning vaper.
