Berserker MTL RTA by Vandy Vape
While there are a few MTL (mouth to lung) RTA’s out there, many of them often cost a great deal of money and are typically marketed as high end products. Now there are always exceptions such as the Digiflavor Siren GTA along with others, but on the whole mouth to lung vaper’s are typically overlooked. The Berserker MTL RTA by Vandy Vape and inspired by Alex from VapersMD is a mass produced and very affordable atomiser.
It is 24mm in diameter, features a tiny reduced chamber, a simple to use build deck, fully adjustable airflow and top filling. It is specifically designed for low wattage use, to be inhaled slowly, allowing the user to savour the flavour and vapour.
So let’s have a thorough look at this new MTL tank and see how what it has to offer you!

Berserker MTL RTA styling and build quality
The Berserker is a very unique looking tank which in some ways reminds me of a 1970’s style Apollo rocket module. It is 24mm in diameter and constructed from Stainless Steel. The pre-fitted 2ml capacity tank is made from Ultem and this can be replaced with a clear glass tank included in the box which increases the capacity to 4.5ml.
In its 2ml capacity default configuration the Berserker is highly compact. I had no issues getting it to sit flush on any of my mods. I felt that the overall construction was excellent and in many respects the workmanship suggested it should cost more than its very fair price point. All of the parts fitted together well. The tank features a convenient top filling design and the top cap has decent knurling. An Ultem drip tip is pre-fitted for you and this can be replaced with a black Delrin one in the box. The fitting is a standard 510 so you can easily use any drip tip from your collection.
The main chamber is highly reduced to ensure superb flavour. It features a simple to use two post deck which makes it highly approachable for a new user. Lastly the 510 pin is Gold-plated for maximum conductivity.
Airflow
The fully adjustable airflow range is very much like the one on my Kayfun Prime. All of the settings are suited to a mouth to lung vape, so if you prefer something more airy this tank is definitely not for you. The largest air hole offers a very loose mouth to lung vape, but once you start going down the settings the airflow gets way more restrictive. The range goes from 1.6mm all the way down to an extremely tight 0.6mm, even tighter than the one on the Prime.
What I really liked about the airflow ring is that is turns well, has knurling, stays at the setting you choose, and eventually stops and won’t turn any further.
Ease of use
This tank is extremely straightforward build that would be perfectly suited to a newcomer to rebuildables. It’s so easy you will be up and running in minutes! The Philips screws are decent and hold the wire securely. Personally I use 28 gauge Kanthal, 7 wraps, 2mm internal diameter which comes out at 1.2ohm Resistance. Position the coil about 2mm above the air hole and you’ll be in the sweet spot. Wicking is simple, just cut the wick tails a short way past the deck, tuck them in gently without forcing them down, and prime them with some juice.
Filling is a breeze. I personally close down the airflow, then unscrew the top cap which is easy to grip thanks to the knurling. The fill holes are of a good size so you won’t have any problem. Once filled, screw the top cap back on, open up your airflow and away you go!
The only thing I should point out is that it can sometimes be bit tricky to see the current juice level if you have the Ultem tank section fitted, so if in doubt hold it up to the light or use the glass tube instead.
How does it vape?
I primed the wick and filled up the tank with some Evil Cloud California Krush. The cotton saturated very quickly and I was taken aback by just how good the flavour was! In so many ways the small chamber of this RTA means the flavour is truly superb and quite honestly it compares extremely well to the far more expensive Kayfun Prime.
Obviously this will vary between different E-Liquids, and as I’m sure you all appreciate some tanks cater better to certain flavours. My Taifun GT III is superb at tobacco, whereas my Kayfun Prime is awesome for custards, but the truth is that the Berserker is offering amazing flavour at a fraction of the price.
I absolutely love the draw on this tank and the airflow has such a brilliant range offering quite a loose mouth to lung vape or an extremely tight one and everything in between. In fact the last airflow hole is even smaller than the smallest on the Kayfun Prime and is super restrictive. Vaping at that setting means the flavour is quite simply like pure nectar tantalising your taste buds!
The second E-Liquid I used in this tank was some Gator Vapes Apple Fang and once again flavour was absolutely cracking. The apple was beautifully crisp and it made for an outstanding vape!
The tank does get quite hot at low Wattage, which is understandable considering the small airflow holes but the Ultem drip tip does a good job of keeping that heat away from your lips. Personally I prefer a hot vape to a cool one so this is perfect for me. Vapour production is good but what you would expect from a mouth to lung atomizer. It will not turn your room into the equivalent of old London town after a few vapes, and if you want that kind of thing you really need to look elsewhere. This is a tank that is perfect for those who want a traditional style experience and is also ideal for anyone making the switch from smoking to vaping!
The 2ml capacity isn’t bad at all and I got through it at a very leisurely pace. Considering how simple the Berserker is to refill it isn’t really an issue at all. Of course Vandy Vape very kindly include a larger tank in the box which you can fit which increases the capacity to 4.5ml, and means the nanny EU’s TPD restriction can take a hike for once!
I must say that I was initially a little put off buying a Berserker since some reviewers had stated that they experienced gurgling and some minor leaking. Now I hate discovering a leaky tank because they always tend to do it without warning over my most expensive mods, so as such I shied away from this RTA. My misgivings were totally unjustified. I personally close the airflow down every time I refill it, screw the top cap back on, then turn it upside down for a couple of seconds before opening up the airflow, then turn it the right side up and vape. Absolutely no problems at all!
I was so impressed with this tank that I could quite easily heap gushing praise upon it, because quite honestly it really does deserve it! I’m tempted to get myself at least two of these awesome tanks, because this is something I would definitely use in regular rotation.
Before I forget, the Berserker does not feature juice flow control but to be honest it doesn’t need it. I’ve vaped 70VG juice in this tank and never had any wicking issues or dry hits.
Conclusion
In my opinion the Berserker is a stellar RTA which will suit any mouth to lung vaper out there! This RTA is a breeze to build, convenient to refill and the flavour it offers is exceptional! The flavour is in fact exactly what you would expect from a high end MTL RTA, at a fraction of the price. In addition the included optional larger tank in the box means you have a way around the annoying TPD meddling, without having to purchase parts from elsewhere in the world. Build quality is also excellent and given the price point offers tremendous value for money.
If you’re a mouth to lung vaper then you really need to get one of these!
