Is this Vaporesso’s answer to replacing disposables? It certainly ticks the boxes as one and the more of these devices the better. While it might not be innovative, it is clearly beginner friendly and bangs out plenty of flavour.

Unboxing
The LUXE Q2 SE comes in a simple carton box with a blown plastic tray holding the device securely, the accessories are hidden underneath.
Since it’s a basic starter kit, there’s not much included, but there is all you need other than e-liquid to get started: the LUXE Q2 SE device, a 0.8ohm Q pod preinstalled, a small charging cable, a small manual, and a ‘free’ lanyard. Sadly there is only one pod included, but it should last you long enough to order spares.
First Impressions and Overview
While the colour isn’t quite to my tastes, it does look pretty slick for an entry level pod kit. There are some far better colour options and some include graphics:
Digital Blue would be my choice but the variety is superb as there should be at least one to suit most folks. My Mint Green one is two-tone with a silver top section and a kinda pearlescent Green.
The construction is a zinc alloy top with a plastic bottom half which feels high quality and substantial in your hand, unfortunately my scales ran out of batteries so I don’t know the actual weight but it feels around 55g at a guess, not too heavy and just the right weight for a lanyard. The size is compact: 96.7mm x 27.4mm x 17.5mm.
I really liked the overall shape as it feels really ergonomic and smooth, the branding is very discreet and is printed in little tab like areas. The airflow is only on one side so I expected it to be a ‘rotate the pod dual airflow’ but I couldn’t notice any difference with the 0.8ohm pod.
The charging port is on the base along with the legal jargon printed, this was the first time I noticed the generous 1000mAh battery size which impressed me and is just right for a 0.8ohm pod.
It has a decent 5V/1A charging current which is ample and it only takes around forty minutes to recharge from low. There’s a single colour LED light embedded on one side, this illuminates whilst vaping and during charging, and it turns off when fully charged. I had hoped for a more handy tri-colour status light but it is just a single colour.
The pod is a magnetic fit and is very easy to remove/replace. The magnets are strong enough to hold the pod firmly in place and there’s no play/wobble. A little detail I liked was the side indents on the pod to help you grip it and I wish more pods had this feature.
You will need to remove the pod to refill it, there’s a red silicone bug which is easy to pull open and this swivels out of the way for more access. The clear pod makes it easy to refill and is mess free as long as you don’t over fill it.
But you can use other pods in it too; the Luxe Q range of four pod options is compatible with Luxe Q, Luxe Q2, Luxe Q2 SE and Luxe QS pod vaping devices, offering RDTL and MTL vaping.
- 0.6Ω Mesh (RDTL)
- 0.8Ω Mesh (RDTL/MTL)
- 1.0Ω Mesh (MTL)
- 1.2Ω Regular (MTL)
These include the new top-fill versions but they are a friction fit rather than magnetic. Personally I prefer the included clear view pod as you can see your e-liquid easier and side filling really isn’t much hassle.
Above you can see me swap and change between the Q2 and the Q2 SE, and here’s the full range of pods available:
I think I will be ordering the 1.0ohm mesh next time as it suits me more, I get too greedy with a 0.8ohm as I quickly consume the 2ml. Also the battery life will be longer with the 1.0ohm.
Old-school vapers might prefer the regular wire 1.2ohm pod but mesh gives more flavour, and disposable converts will feel more at home with the mesh.
Q2 vs Q2 SE
Here they are side by side, the regular Q2 has a little more to offer; adjustable airflow, tri-colour light, but it is more expensive. They are pretty much the same in size.
I preferred the original Q2 as it felt more ‘luxe’ with the leather grip and airflow slider, but beginners might find the SE’s simplicity more appealing.
Vaporesso included a free lanyard which is great if you use them, I swear by them as they make the device far more accessible, especially while driving.
It is simple to fit as there’s a silicone ring which slips over the device, just make sure you don’t block off the airflow inlet. I found positioning it as photographed just right for balance around your neck. Usually I prefer plain black lanyards but the subtle pattern on the included one isn’t too loud so I used it. My only gripe is I would rather Vaporesso had included a second pod instead, but if you don’t already own a lanyard then you will be happier.
Performance
The LUXE Q2 SE is just superb for flavour, one of the very best. I tested it with the new ELUX Legends range BANANA ICE which is a good test to see if it could handle sweet e-liquids and the Q2 SE handled it perfectly. The clear-view pod enabled me to see the bubbles rise between draws as it re-soaks the coil and it was instant.
Despite it only having a single airflow, it still delivered a satisfying MTL draw, very similar to disposables. I imagine the 1.0ohm mesh pod to be a little tighter, I could also get a surprisingly enjoyable RDL draw from it too.
One thing I did find was that you do need to take a strong draw on it, as in if you lightly draw then the auto-draw is intermittent, but you soon get used to it.
As mentioned in the intro, the LUXE Q2 SE is another disposable killer. As much as I hate the waste with planet-killing disposables, I have always loved the vape you get from them, but THIS is just so much better, trust me and ditch those disposables and convert to the LUXE Q2 SE and you won’t look back. E-liquids have caught up so any flavour you can think of is available, I will be reviewing the ELUX Legends range shortly but they are ideal, as are the ELFLIQ range.
Conclusion
The LUXE Q2 SE might be basic but as an affordable starter device, you will struggle to find a better one. Vaporesso are one of the market leaders and their coil technology is one of the very best, the pods last ages and they have sussed out the leaking issues of the past. I remember being blown away with their OSMALL device a few years back but that leaked, as did a lot of pods back then, but Vaporesso learned from it.
Vaporesso have got all their ducks in a row as their product range has something for everyone, from full blown sub-ohm cloud chuckers, MTL mod/tank combos, and a wide variety of starter kits. The LUXE Q2 SE is a perfect starter kit, is affordable, and I would recommend this kit in a heartbeat.
Pros
- Flavour is fantastic
- Clear-view pods
- Cross compatibility Q pod range
- Simple beginner friendly kit
- Affordable
- Disposable killer
- 1000mAh battery with 1 Amp charging
- Compact and ergonomic
- Free lanyard
- Long pod lifespan
Cons
- Only one pod included
- Single colour LED
I had considered the fixed airflow as a con but as I thought about the purpose of this being a disposable alternative, it isn’t an issue and simplifies things.
Final Thoughts and Score
Overall the LUXE Q2 SE is such a great option as an affordable starter kit and a perfect introduction to Vaporesso devices, you’re assured to get one of the best flavour delivery pods out there. I really enjoyed using this device a lot more than I expected, for the price you won’t regret buying one.
Score 8/10 – LUXE FUXE Disposables

Mostly from POTV users knowledge I learned so much about pretty much all styles of vaping and equipment, Cloud Chasing, Squonking, Mouth To Lung, Direct To Lung, Pods, Mechs, Rebuild-able tanks and atomisers etc, and have experience with many many devices and atomisers, it's become a hobby and enjoy trying out the latest gear. I like to think my reviews are plain speaking and informative without getting too technical, if I have to resort to reading the manual then I don't consider it user friendly!
