I have not used many Smok products during my vaping journey, so I was looking forward to reviewing this as there is such mixed opinions on Smok as a brand.
The device is controlled by a single button which can be used to adjust the power level from 1 to 25 watts. A two-way U-shaped airflow generates plenty of air for smooth vapour. The device comes with two Novo X DC pods (dual coil), they are fixed Mouth to Lung dual coils designed to maximise flavour. You can also get a Single Mesh Novo X Pod but I have not received one of this so cannot offer my feedback.
The OLED screen provides you with battery level with %, wattage, coil resistance and voltage. I like the screen, its bright and easy to read.
To use it's very easy, press the power button five times to switch on and off and press two or three times to adjust the wattage. The pods are clear and have a decent size fill hole on the side, and you have a small window at the top.
I started off using nic salts and it does provide great flavour. I’m not a big fan of this type of mouthpiece though, but that is my personal preference. The airflow I would say is medium and it's definitely an MTL device, but you can get a decent restrictive direct to lung too. I have also used some freebase juice 70/30 and there were no issues with wicking, it kept up well.
What I like
- Good Battery of 800mAh
- Clear bright OLED Screen
- Excellent Flavour
- Size, weight and shape of the device, feels comfy in the hand
- Ease of use
- Auto Draw
- Can use any juice
- It's small so fits nicely in a pocket
- You get two Pods in the kit
- Zero leaks
Not I'm so keen on
- The mouthpiece, a bit chunky for me
- Filling is a bit fiddly due to the internal silicone seal and the space for the nib, you have to really tilt the nib of the bottle to fill the pod
- Juice window is pointless, it will only show if the level is nearly fully, anything less then you need to remove the pod, not the end of the world but don’t see the point of the window.
Overall Score 7.5/10
Suitable for any MTL or RDTL vaper. The kit will cost around £25 and a pack of 3 pods is £8.99

Reviewer at POTVIn August 2019 I joined POTV & in Sept I bought a Caliburn and some nic salts & have not touched a cigarette since! I was smoking around 20 cigarettes a day for 26 years!! Mental! I honestly appreciate all the help and guidance from the POTV members, they made the switch so much easier!I am very much into MTL PODs & AIOs.
