The UK Government is driving the Tobacco and Vapes Bill through Parliament and leading vape company VPZ says that your voice matters – and the time to act is now! The legislation will grant ministers the ability to ban products and restrict flavours, reducing the appeal and effectiveness of products. VPZ has created a survey to help it make its case to the politicians.

The UK Vape Bill: Your Voice Matters

Leading vape retailer VPZ says: “In light of the recently proposed Vapes Bill in the UK, we have developed a survey to gather valuable insights from individuals like you. Your candid feedback will help us compile essential data that demonstrates how vaping and flavoured vape juice, when paired with appropriate guidance and support, has served as an effective tool for smokers seeking to quit cigarettes.

“Our objective is to present these findings to Parliament, highlighting the positive role of vaping in reducing smoking rates and promoting healthier lifestyle choices. Your voice and experiences are crucial to this effort, and we appreciate your participation in this important initiative. Thank you.”

The survey asks for basic information such as your postcode and email address.

Then VPZ ask you why you switched to vaping. Most vapers did so because, following multiple failed quit attempts with traditional products such nicotine gum or nicotine patches, they were concerned about the health impacts of using tobacco products and recognised the reduced harm of vaping – at least 95% less, according to the Royal College of Physicians.

Maybe you simply wanted to save money as vapes are a far cheaper alternative to smoking?

Some switch due to having the social influence of having family members that they don’t want to expose to secondhand smoke – or the peer influence of having a partner demand they swap fags for vapes!

VPZ also ask how long you’ve been vaping for. Experts believe that one of the main reasons vaping works up to three times better than traditional quit approaches is that ex-smokers continue to use an ecig for longer than they would use a gum, patch or spray – thereby ensuring the quitter remains smoke free.

Next, VPZ want to know what flavours you currently or have ever used. Research shows that even those who use tobacco flavoured eliquids eventually migrate to other flavours as part of a successful quit attempt; enjoyment is a key feature in replacing smoking with vaping.

Then you are asked to assess how helpful you reckon vaping has been.

Finally, VPZ ask about the health benefits you’ve noted since switching. The Planet of the Vapes forum used to be full of anecdotes such as ex-smokers taking up sport or physical challenges such as long-distance cycling or running marathons. Maybe you just enjoy not coughing and being able to smell nice things?

Of course, as useful as such activities are, you should be considering writing to your local MP as well. As this week’s feature articles on the debates taking place in Parliament show, there is a growing level of ignorance among politicians and we need to be educating them as voting constituents.
