Booking is now open for #GFN25, the leading international conference, welcoming of consumers, that discusses everything nicotine and tobacco harm reduction. This year’s event, Challenging perceptions - effective communication for THR, will be the twelve. It takes place in Warsaw, Poland, from Thursday 19 to Saturday 21 June 2025. The day before the conference, Wednesday 18 June, will be devoted to side and satellite meetings, many open to anyone registered for the in-person event.

#GFN25 organisers say: “As we approach the end of the quarter century, safer nicotine products are beginning to challenge the dominance of the combustible cigarette - with huge potential impacts for global public health.
“But this headway is being slowed by a paradox. Each year, the scientific basis for tobacco harm reduction continues to grow. Yet each year, popular opinion about it appears to worsen.
“#GFN25’s conference theme, Challenging perceptions - effective communication for tobacco harm reduction will focus on finding solutions for the misunderstandings, misconceptions and mischaracterisations that are putting the brakes on progress. Reducing smoking-related harms is urgent. How can we make the case for harm reduction more effectively?”
Each day of the conference will feature key-note presentations from thought leaders in tobacco harm reduction, followed by the thoughts of a respondent and the opportunity for Q&A from the audience, both in the room and online. Moderated panel discussions will have similar opportunities for audience engagement. Parallel sessions will comprise the ScienceLab, participatory workshops, sessions in Russian and Spanish, and the GFN Film Festival.
Organisers add: “GFN works at its very best with the ever-impressive contributions of you, the GFN community. So GFN Fives will be returning to GFN25 alongside our innovative GFN Science Lab and Film Festival. Visit our GFN Film pages for more information - what will you submit?”
For those seeking inspiration for their Fives submission, or just to get into the GFN spirit, past GFN sessions can be watched for free on the GFN website and Youtube channel. Also, the organisers manage a full range of social media channels to follow, and you can sign up to the #GFN newsletter to stay informed as the programme evolves.
