At #GFN21 the GFN Team launched the #GFNFives as a replacement for poster presentations - an open submissions slot for five-minute films on nicotine science, policy and advocacy.
The conference organisers report that they were amazed by the response from the conference community, receiving over 70 videos from all around the world exploring a huge range of issues, from vaping advocacy in Thailand, to simulation modelling exploring whether the ‘gateway effect’ for adolescents is a reality, to the tenor of the debate around tobacco harm reduction, to a chemical analysis of the aerosol generated by a heated tobacco product or to barriers to switching to vaping among New Zealanders.
Watched by over 5,500 people during the event, the videos continue to be viewed on the GFN website today. Now, the event organisers are inviting the Planet of the Vapes community to record your #GFNFives ahead of #GFN22, taking place in Warsaw from June 16 - 18.
Content categories are broad for the #GFNFives slot, covering ‘Science and innovation’, ‘Policy, legislative and regulatory issues’ and ‘Consumer advocacy, regional updates and general information’. The format is up to you as well - you could present a slideshow with a recorded voiceover, make an animation or just use your smartphone or webcam to record a video.
The final deadline for submissions is 2 May 2022, but Planet of the Vapes readers can start sending in your #GFNFives now. Full submissions guidance is available on the website.
Submitting #GFNFives is open to everyone, whether you’re going to the event in Warsaw or not. To submit your video, you just need to register at the conference website for free. Once approved and processed, #GFNFives will be published and promoted, meaning the earlier the films are sent in, the more views they will get.
Register for #GFN22 to submit your #GFNFives
For the second year, Planet of the Vapes is delighted to be one of the official media partners at #GFN21. We will be bringing you all of the latest announcements from the organising team and full coverage from the event itself.
