The Global Forum on Nicotine team have announced plans to hold #GFN22 live in Warsaw, from 16 - 18 June 2022. Due to the changeable nature of international travel, arrangements are in place to mirror the conference online. Successful new initiatives from GFN21 look likely to be continued at this year’s event.

Organisers say The Global Forum on Nicotine “is the only international conference to focus on the role of safer nicotine products that help people switch from smoking. Safer nicotine products include e-cigarettes (vapes), nicotine pouches, oral tobaccos such as Swedish snus, and heated tobacco products. This is a rapidly evolving area, with many new non-combustible products emerging over the past ten to fifteen years.

“The rapid development and use of safer nicotine products raises a number of challenging scientific questions about their safety, who uses them and why, and the impact on smoking. These products also raise challenges for governments who seek to understand what kind of policy and regulation is appropriate. The GFN examines the rapidly developing science in relation to nicotine and its use, including policy and regulatory responses.”

Organisers note that the world is “an uncertain place right now, but we want you to know that the Global Forum on Nicotine team is an optimistic one - and so we are busy planning for GFN22 live in Warsaw. We’d love you to join us there! Our plans will see many of the core sessions available to livestream for registered participants, with remaining content accessible to all after the live event has wrapped.

Our theme for 2022 is an optimistic one as well: Tobacco harm reduction - here for good. The Global Forum on Nicotine is the only conference where all stakeholders are welcomed - we are open to everyone.”

Planet of the Vapes teamed up with GFN in 2021 for the hybrid event in Liverpool. Last year witnessed the introduction of the #GFNFives - short, multimedia presentations up to five minutes long, on science and innovation; policy, legislation and regulatory issues; and consumer advocacy and general information.

With over 70 accepted submissions, you really delivered the goods - and #GFNFives were watched by almost 6,000 people during the conference. It’s now time to start on your 2022 #GFNFives - the submissions portal for registered #GFN22 participants is already open!

Check out the first crop of #GFNFives from this year and you’ll see they come in many shapes, but one size only (5 minutes or less!). Didn’t submit one last year? Not quite sure what we’re looking for? Want to know what makes a #GFNFives video stand out? Find out more: https://gfn.events/gfn-fives

We are really looking forward to seeing you in Warsaw and online in June 2022. Until then, stay safe and well.”
