World Vape Day is primarily an online event involving streamed presentations and Twitter campaigns and the organisers promise there will be something that everyone can join in with to show their support.
The organisers say:
- Half of all those who smoke will die prematurely from a smoking-related disease
- Over six million people die from a smoking-related disease every year
- More people will die from smoking cigarettes than from malaria, HIV and tuberculosis combined
- One billion people will have died from a smoking-related disease by the end of the century, according to the World Health Organization
- $1 Trillion is the annual global cost of smoking-related diseases estimated by the WHO
On the 30th of May, an event will stream live on Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. Currently, the agenda is as follows:
16:00 CET - Vape Show
16:30 CET - Opening Remarks
17:00 CET - Time For Optimism: How Vaping Is Changing the World
18:00 CET - Why Is It Worth Going the Extra Mile for vaping
Confirmed participants: Prof. Bernd Mayer, Christopher Snowdon (IEA), GrimmGreen (THR advocate), Yael Ossowski (Consumer Choice Center)
