V2 Cigs UK Quit Smoking Survey

Vape company reveals some interesting figures behind the quit smoking story.

We recently discovered that Stoptober was a huge success for independent vape companies like Vape Club. V2 Cigs UK conducted research to look at the facts and figures lying behind Britain’s quit smoking attempts, and believe over one million smokers attempted to quit this year.

Paul Hunt is the Managing Director of V2 Cigs UK. He commented on the company’s findings: “It's good to see that so many people have decided to give vaping a go. It's been widely researched and found that it can be significantly helpful for those trying to quit smoking for good.”

"Many people have never even tried e-cigarettes because they're worried about their safety and how addictive they are,” added Hunt, “but it's important to realise how much of a safer alternative vaping is than smoking, as e-cigarette contain significantly fewer cancer-causing chemicals.”

Paul continued: “However, credit goes to the one in five who have quit and managed to stay smoke-free or those attempting Stoptober, the NHS' month-long campaign, which has driven a million quit attempts to date.''

V2 report that not everyone’s attempt to quit smoking has been successful or long term as over half of the respondents claimed a lack of willpower was their biggest hindrance when putting an end to their smoking habit.

The company discovered that “A fifth of smokers find quitting so difficult that they can’t go a month without a cigarette, whilst six percent of smokers claimed that they didn’t need to quit as they only smoke on a social basis.”

A massive spin-off for ex-smokers is that they can become more active. V2 discovered that 59% of those polled took up jogging, dieting or meditation to help curb their cravings, and 53% ventured into gyms.

For those still looking to quit, V2 say: “For those looking to quit smoking beyond Stoptober we recommend the purchase of an E-Cigarette to help you put an end to your cravings.”
