Aspire have today alerted us two new products that they have in the pipeline. The first is the Triton, a new tank which appears to have a great range of options, which we will discuss shortly, and also a new mod. Details about the new mod have not been announced yet but we will bring you more details as soon as we have any information. We have been told that the new mod will quickly follow once the new tank has been released.

Details of the Triton have been released though and it looks very interesting indeed! Aspire have clearly listened to the feedback that PotV readers gave them on the forum and have unleashed a whole slew of changes.

Yes, it is another sub ohm tank with stock 0.4 and 0.3 ohm coils, made using Japanese cotton wicking material and surgical grade (316L) stainless steel coils. But wait!  As well as the sub ohm coils Aspire have also created a 1.8 ohm stock coil, rated for use at 10-13 Watts.  The wire in this coil is traditional Kanthal, 0.18mm with coil spacing at 1.3mm.

So how can a tank be used for sub ohm vaping as well as traditional mouth-to-lung vaping?  It appears that the airflow options will allow the airflow to be shut down to a point where mouth-to-lung vaping will work.  This looks really interesting to us, the 1.8 ohm coils have the same size holes in the side of the coil head so it may well be possible that high VG liquids will be usable in this tank, which would be a nice addition.

As well as the new option of an improved range of coil resistances, Aspire have also updated the top airflow in this model compared to the Atlantis 2.  Where that tank had its own drip tip of a non-standard size, Aspire have listened to the feedback from the community and put the top airflow control ring separate to a standard 510 drip tip.  A drip tip is included with the tank but you will now have the option to pair your tank with your own custom drip tip.

Another addition is a rebuildable deck.  This appears to be an optional add on and won’t be included with the tank as standard but it is good to see that the more cost-conscious vaper will be catered for. The rebuildable deck appears to only take a single coil but we will report more on this when we have one here to review.

The tank has a 3.5ml capacity and features an easy top fill system. So all in all it looks like there have been some really good improvements and additions with the Triton and we are very much looking forward to reviewing it.  More details on the Triton can be found on Aspire’s website here.

Aspire have also give us four of these new tanks to give away! The tanks are likely to arrive with us in early July so the competition will run until then and the winners will be sent the tanks as soon as the winners are drawn so check back for details of the competition

He has been involved in websites since completing a degree in Environmental Science in the late nineties.  At that time there was pretty much no contact with computers but on joining the regular workforce and deciding that the world-wide-web was the future he blagged his first job as a web designer and never looked back. As you would expect from a junglist, Dave likes his beats and is most comfortable when the bass is wobbly.
