The Whiteout is the first crowd sourced and fully customizable device. Every aspect of the device can be customized from the exterior to the internals. As a simple example you could start with one choice of chipset in your device and then later change your mind and replace it with something better. Many vaper's love to skin their box mods with colourful wraps but what if you could tweak the actual casing too?
CloudMaker Technologies are focusing on the idea of “build kits”for the Whiteout that offer the ease of plug and play to users without requiring in depth technical knowledge. Essentially they are offering modding to everybody and you simply purchase your initial configuration choice and then tweak it to your own liking:

The whole concept holds massive potential. Being crowd funded means that CloudMaker Technologies will listen to the needs of its backers which means the Whiteout is a mod developed by vapers for vapers.
In many ways we are almost overwhelmed with choice these days and at times feels like vaping technology is mirroring the computer or mobile phone evolution, in the sense that hardware is constantly being outdated in next to no time at all. For many it can be annoying to constantly trading in old devices and buying the latest only for it to be once more left behind within in a few months.
