The charity this year was “each” – East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, specifically to make a donation to their Nook appeal - https://www.each.org.uk/the-nook. They have a massive amount to raise to help improve the care of children in their region and we hope that the donation that will be landing with them soon will make a bit of a dent in their target.
In total we raised £4,315 so thanks to everyone who took part in this event! The money will be paid over on Monday next week as we are still getting the odd donation coming in now.
Thanks to JustDave for helping hunt down some of the modders who kindly donated prizes, really appreciate your help, especially considering what you were going through at the time... Thanks to the modders and vendors who donated prizes too, we are massively grateful for your generosity. Thanks to all of our forum members, old and new, who contributed their surplus gear, their time and their hard cash for donations – you lot made the mods and admins really proud to be part of such a fantastic site and community. Thanks also to Rob’s wife Carol for keeping the books and helping keeping Rob sane!
The biggest and most special thanks though are for Rob Stobbs. This is the third charity raffle he has organised and overseen, it is a mammoth task every year and his time and patience in organising and conducting the raffle is not to be underestimated. The time and attention that Rob has given these events has been awesome. Sadly Rob has said that this is the last raffle that he is going to head up due to personal reasons. I am sure you will all join me in thanking Rob for his time and energy and for having helped raise just under £9,000 for various charities over the last three events – you’ve done POTV and vapers proud and we love you for it xxx
Dave Junglist
Journalist at POTVDave Junglist is co-owner of Planet of the Vapes and has been vaping since 2015. He spent his early years with his head in a bass bin and was a very committed and experienced smoker. He had his first cigarette at the age of 13 and just knew it was for him. He did stop briefly with the aid of patches but reverted quickly and became a ‘secret’ smoker, working hard to keep his weak will from the attention of his family. Vaping made an honest man of him and for this he is forever thankful. He has been involved in websites since completing a degree in Environmental Science in the late nineties. At that time there was pretty much no contact with computers but on joining the regular workforce and deciding that the world-wide-web was the future he blagged his first job as a web designer and never looked back. As you would expect from a junglist, Dave likes his beats and is most comfortable when the bass is wobbly.
